Depths of Autumn. 0
With the warmer weather approaching, we're all going to have to deal with the most significant nuisance of fishing, sea lice. Sea lice have the tendency of entering sea creatures through the rectum, mouth, gills or any hole present; subsequently eating away at the flesh like maggots. A method I use to counteract this is wrapping your bait in 'bait mate' (see photo). Although this will not stop the sea lice from ruining your bait, it will allow you to leave your baits out exsensively longer.(http://www.baitelastic.com/images/BaitMate001.jpg)Does anyone have any intelligence they'd like to share on how to deal with sea lice?DOA. Ranger 48
When the sea lice come out to play, I just pack up and go home, as I've found the fishing is generally pretty crappy when the lice are around. Gimbles

afishyfish 4
Put a stocking over your baitThats probably not that different to the bait-mate, but a bit more full-on FH.Have you caught fish with a stocking over the bait ?As Ranger insinuated, fish dont seem to bite well anyway when the lice are in large numbers, so theres often little point in avoiding them imo
brenton 637
Put a stocking over your baitOr use a bait sock which are made for just this scenario, also saves you getting in trouble for cutting up Nanas pantyhose. cheers brenton Depths of Autumn.
