archerfish 685
From the Fishing World website:http://www.sportfishingmag.com/top-100-game-fishNice to see Australia represented on this international list by some of the usual (and not so usual) suspects...I suspect this poll may start more arguments than it settles!Cheersaf
fishnuts 55
I think a lot of it also comes down to which tackle you use to catch each fish, as some are more demanding than others to pursue.Cheers Dazzp.s. Interesting read though.
archerfish 685
Yeah, Dazz - and some nice photos as well...
fished out 0
Dsitribution chart wasn't overly great, No Bonefish , no permit and no marlin in aus just to name a few.I agree with Dazz, it all comes down to the tackle you use. Gar could be a great sportsfish if we used light enough gear.
Dan C 1
"Squirelfish"? Never heard that one before. http://www.sportfishingmag.com/50-game-fish?image=142621
wishing2Bfishing 0
not thatv ive caught one yet but you would have to think that samson fish would make it in there somewhere, they pull pretty hard i have heard. in my opinion if you dont stand up and fight the fish its not really proper fishing ie catching blue marlin from a game chair. just my opinion though, i understand that a 1200lb marlin pulls pretty hard but i would rather catch a 40kg kingfish and stand up and fight it
CallopHunter 1
Blue Groper should rate a very good mention?
pauly s 426
nothing stopin u fighting a smaller marlin on stand up gear and would be the fight of ur life, but i do agree fighting a fish out of a game chair wouldnt be on top of my game fish list
CallopHunter 1
A smaller marlin would be gar, if you work out pulling strength pound for pound You would see some of the smaller fish such as gar, reddies and bream rate a much higher mention.
wishing2Bfishing 0
tommies go fairly hard for there size as well, plus they jump like marlin!
fished out 0
^^ Exactly, we now just need some company to invent a 100 (A tenth of the size of a 1000) reel and some 200g line to spool it with. Then a really light rod and bingo a mega tommie could set you back 5 or 6 minutes to land. :woohoo: wishing2Bfishing
wishing2Bfishing 0
that would be wicked, when big fish arent playing the game you can still get your fix on small tommies, shitties, even puffers might go on a scorching run!
