Luke5600 61
Hi, I'm looking for a larger knife to be able to handle cutting rays and sharks. I have a bait knife currently that I've been using but found its not really suited too it (too difficult to cut through cartilage etc, it has serrations on the top of the knife so I can't hit the top of the knife to break through the cartilage) Not really looking for one for fine jobs such as filleting but more the heavier jobs. I'm a chef by trade so I have plenty of decent knives to fillet with, just the heavier niche I need to fill now.Anyone got any suggestions? I was having a look at the Kershaw Pro Grade Cimeter knife on motackle and it looks like it will be able to handle the job but I was wondering what you guys are currently using
ShimsMan 1
Hey luke, if you want a tough knife capable of processing larger stuff; have a look in MBL on churchill road; When I was working as a chef I got most of my knives there and they're great value. ShimsMan 1
Hey luke,This is pretty much what i'd buy: LinkIt's got an 8 inch blade, tough as nails and the steel is a nice Sandvik 12C27 stainless.Should be an excellent knife for the price at $37!
