newtontoney 57
Both type of guides look amazing to me...has anyone used both ? What are they both better suited for in your opinion ? cheers,
Kelvin 2,200
Both are Fuji guides. SIC are stronger and lighter and much better if you can afford them. For mid range rods I like to build with alconites and a SIC tip. For light bream or heavy jigging, SIC all the way. newtontoney
plankton 725
For me and most of my fishing applications alconite guides are more than adequate, I even like the less expensive hardloys. SIC guides are for when you're targetting fish that run hard, long and repeatedly as they handle friction (heat) much better, but they're considerably more expensive, so unless you're chasing kingies or something similar you don't really need them imo. newtontoney
