Fishingnut 0
Hi guys, me and a mate went fishing down the Onk this morning, at Perry's Bend. we were just sitting there watching our rods, when we looked to the right and seen two guy's at the end of the walkway with a drag net, was wondering if this is legal or not. they were driving a white twin cab ute, not sure of make, Fishingnut
southie THE BANGA 2,304
Nah your not allowed to, it is illegal. from what i can remember a fair while ago a group of men got caught dragging nets along the upper reaches of the onk near old noarlunga at night, and they got hit hard with massive fines and conferscations.I think the onk is part of the aquatic reserve but dont hold it to me.Brayden

brenton 637
you would hope that it was sort of scientic or fisheries reseach for them to be doing that so openly but sadly i doubt it.I remember Chops and Dave removing a net a few years ago, even made the paper i think as it is an aquatic reserve. cheers brenton
Mr Keen 0
My brother and I fish the onk all the time and we are extremely fond of the little river. These pieces of sh!t(providing not researchers) better hope that I or my bro don't catch them doing this for they shall be wiping two or three holes by the time we've finished with them!!! I am so annoyed that these greedy bastards get away with this type of behavior that I am going out to the shed to calm down! ;)Keen
Fishingnut 0
Pretty sure it wasn't fisheries or any thing like that, but they were defently using a drag net coz one guy had waders on, Fishingnut
