Some pics of Rapid bay with 17-40mm and Polarising Filter on a Canon Rebel.
  2. Looking for a new rod for fishing the Murray Mouth.Have been thinking about the Daiwa Jig Caster 10.6ft version.http://www.rayannes.com.au/products/rods-reels/daiwa/daiwa-rods/daiwa-jig-caster-rods-from-199-jdm-product/Also thinking about the Daiwa Sea Jigger 325.Will match with my Saltiga 4500 with 50lb and might also get a Penn CQR7000 for fishing with 30lb saltiga surf.My Daiwa Sensors are just too heavy for flicking 80-120g lures all day. Need something lighter.Open to suggestions.
  3. Can't decide between 63s and saltiga 64 combi jerk for z4500.
  4. Has anyone got the saltiga 63s or 64 combi jerk rods?I'm looking for an extra rod to suit my saltiga z4500.Going to be used as all rounder, live baiting for kings, mully and jigging plus snapper fishing.
  5. What rod is that Neil is using with his Saltiga 4500?The reason bridle rigging works well in the port with a running tide is because the fish doesn't drown and gets to face the current. When fishing with livies in a boat best to fish it a metre or 2 off the bottom also with a running sinker going to a swivel.

  7. I use the 13ft and 12ft version of the Sensors with a Saltiga Surf reel.I have landed mulloway in excess of 50lb with this setup at Yalata.I have now spooled the Saltiga Surf with 50lb Daiwa Sensor braid and use a 60lb shock leader. Nothing has out gunned me using this set-up so far.I have cast out whole squid with a big 8oz Grapnel sinker. My mate has the 11ft sensor he uses with Abu over head and 30lb mono, he has also landed many aswell including plenty of bronzies around 6ft mark.Ray and Annes sell the 11ft overhead version for $159.00Other option is the Nitro Messiah which you can get from
  8. Daiwa Sensor, i use the 20-40lb model.Even with your reel loaded with 50lb, you will struggle to go max drag pressure.By looking at your build, you will be water skiing with a heavier set-up.I know a bloke who uses the sensor for ballooning out livies for Hammerheads from the rocks down south.I have had this rod pressed again the Bluff jetty rail and used it as a big lever to get the biggest ray I have ever seen to the surface.
  9. The advantage of the Nitro if the lifetime warranty, snap the rod tip and get it replaced for $60.
  10. For live baiting I prefer a nice sensitive tip to keep tabs on the livie.
  11. Thanks _matt_ but a rod like that is not suited to live baiting, more for jigging.
  12. I will be needing a rod to match a Saltiga Z4500.Trying to toss up between the 8-15kg Texaliium and the 10-15kg Nitro Godzilla. Will be using it mostly for livebaiting in the Port for Mulloway from a boat.
  13. Anyone seen this?http://www.snapperfishing.com.au/
  14. Albright know, a 124kg tuna was boated with the same one!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k58ARA7K8_4&feature=relatedI tested it on a massive eagle ray from the beack with 50lb braid and 60lb black magic supple trace. It casts really well in the surf.
  15. Around Victor harbour yacht club casting from the beach i can catch upto a dozen silver whitting in about 30min.The best bait is live bait caught from the location you are going to fish, even if it's a 10cm tommy.
  16. I have a Daiwa Sensor 12 and 13ft version which i use with Saltiga Surf 6000 reel and 50lb braid.Daiwa Saltiga Balistic rods a little overpriced and don't see the advantage since the Sensor cast far enough and handles big 6-8oz sinkers and whole salmon trout / mullet baits. And the saltiga surf spinning rods are more for lures than bait casting.
  17. Yalata Flathead from the Bait Hole in Jan 2010.
  18. For bait fishing I got the Nitro Suf Assasin matched with a Certate 3500HD for salmon and for lure around 50-60g I use a custom Sabre 196-7 with a Calcutta 400.For 20-50g lure i'm geting a custom built Hastings Graphite USA 6-8kg 10ft rod built to use with a Certate 2500R.
  19. I got my new reel for my birthday, certate 3500HD.It's going to be used on my Nitro Surf Assassin with 25lb Saltiga SW braid.I'll also use it on my Nitro Magnum Butt until I get a certate 2500R which i'll spool with 20lb Saltiga Surf braid.
  20. I'm thinking of matching it with a Daiwa Heartland 4000 reel + 20lb braid.http://www.daiwafishing.com.au/daiwa.cfm?page=reels&reels=realfour&product=Heartland-XAOR i'll just go for the Certate 3500HD.http://www.daiwafishing.com.au/daiwa.cfm?page=reels&reels=realfour&product=certate
  21. I just bought a Nitro surf assasin for salmon bait fishing.Just wondering which reel i should match it up with because i think my saltiga surf 6000 might be too big for it???thankshttp://www.innovatorrods.com/nitro-surfassassin.html
  22. I get them at Fishermans Paradise down Pirie Street
  23. Took me ages to find but here they are.Owner 3-way swivels, I get the ones rated around 200lb for my mully rigs.http://www.strikehook.com/images/attachments/2xgdxi9b__3_Way_Crane_Swivels.jpg[/img]
