Braid: Strength vs Diameter vs PE
SurfcaztR replied to Soobz's topic in How to guides and DIY projects
When i ran the 2500 Emeraldas reel this PE1 line on the Emeraldas spool took the whole 150m roll, never lost a jig with line breaking usually the knot was the issue and my fault tying.Compairing this with others used comes out as 0.13mm and rated 20.2lb https://isofishinglifestyle.com.au/collections/pe-line/products/varivas-avani-eging-max-power-pe-x8?variant=32779085840447 -

Happy Valley Reservoir opening in December
SurfcaztR replied to SurfcaztR's topic in General Fishing
The Rangers were there on and off and did educate some of do's and don'ts but they had other places to be as well and once they are out of sight anything can happen with out them as the temptation in catching one of the 1,000 Cod in there and on the dinner table.Signage is around the place re fish limits and rules but the public turned zombie and ignored common sense, I'm too avoiding the place for a while. -

Complete chaos at Happy Valley reservoir. A guy says seen 15 Cod caught in 15 mins from shore plus Cod being dragged out over ground and bagged, what a mess it has been over the weekend.plenty more shenanigans to come. -

I find the true breaking strength of a line is at the knot (braid to leader).it can be tested with various devices at home as in knowing what you're working with. -

David Speirs MP Mount Bold Reservoir Reserve is open for business! It’s South Australia’s biggest reservoir (holding over 46 gigalitres of water!) and is surrounded by rugged hill country. Today a 10km network of new trails and a spectacular lookout opened as Stage One of public access to this site was rolled out. There’s much more planned in Stage Two including more trails, water access and fishing!

A couple pics of Pt Douglas taken at a water side cafe called "the tin shed" and next to the ramp.Sat there having lunch watching a school of Kingfish doing loops out in front, surface Kingfish diving one foot you would lose site of them being murky water. Here's a few links of the area live surf cams. https://www.newsport.com.au/beachcam/ https://www.newsport.com.au/beachcam/palm-cove-beachcam/

Just got back from Palm Cove a few days ago,the first thing getting off the plane in Cairns was we all had face masks on plane and in airport but once you step outside no one had a mask on.I asked the shuttle driver why..too hot.. never seen one again in any shopping centre or cafe during the stay over. The weather everyday was usually 32 and 24deg overnight, air conditioners run here 24/7.The real heat starts in December and goes through Jan & Feb with lots of humidity.Interestingly no flies or mozzies over the 7 day stay. The water was surprisingly warm at 28deg while the SA coa
