  1. I'm interested in what everyone does if they take two rods out on the rocks. Occasionally you can find a crevise to shove a pvc tube in but this rarely works for me.Now that I own decent rods and reels I can't bring myself to throw it around on the rocks and scratch it up.I now only take one rod out with me but i'd prefer to take two but you can only hold one :(Anyone willing to share how they do it?Any suggestions greatly appreciated

  2. With a weight light that I certainly wouldn't get more than 20m I reckon. If there is no breeze (never bloody happens when lure fishing) then i'd maybe get to 25m.I normally use a tcurve 2-4kg 7 footer with a 2500 ci4 spooled with 8lb.Can never cast far enough!!!!I use the heaviest smallest poppers i can to maximize distance when fishing for whiting/bream. But I can peg a 9 gram stickbait a mile!

  3. Will definitely throw up my opinion when i've tested it. I only really fish with reels with this ratio so another 6.0:1 (ish) is nothing new :)Can say that the fine drag is great to adjust and very smooth as far as i tested it at home. I'm already trying to find an excuse to buy another...

  4. Sunline 8lbLove the stuff! Casts brilliantly, really fine diameter and nice and limp. I have it in 15lb too but i haven't had a chance to use it yet on that spool. The other braid i use in 20lb is daiwa tournament in the same colour. Bloody tough and insanely thin for it's size! Not cheap though :(

  5. Has anyone had a chance to see these new reels yet?Posted ImageI picked mine up the day before yesterday. Considering i paid $290 for my 2500 ci4 just over a year ago I thought it was brilliantly priced at $330 for the 2500.It looks amazing but it is considerably smoother than my ci4 and lays line a lot better. Shimano have beefed the drag up to 8kgs now but i'll have to test it when i respool as i'm running 8lb. I went for a quick flick yesterday for nada so I'll have to wait to give it a real test. It comes with a cool little stand that it can lean on instead of the handle too. Looks a bit funny but does the job well :)Posted ImageDefinitely worth checking out :)Squid

  6. Lads are onto it. I always use a small loop knot and keep my leader short, the lngest would be 2 foot but that is to save tying new ones all the time :)There are quite a few clips and articles on the net if you've ever got the time to hunt around related to the topic and want to learn a bit more. You'll develop a rhythm in your retrieve that makes it a lot more fun and productive :)Persist! It's a great way to fishSquid

  7. For the life of me I can't think of the container you've mentioned :( So i'm no help there but I use Plano Guide tackle cases for my squidgies and ONLY use those new clear gulp containers with the red screw on lid for my gulps.Sick of the stuff leaking! I have one for snapper gulps (big flickbaits and grubs) and another for medium sized flickbaits. I still want to buy two more so i have one for gulp worms and one for little flickbaits. No more leaks!Awesome finally having the mess sorted out! Instead of taking the big trays out I pick what i'll need for the session and put it in a smaller tray

  8. I've won these 3 spools over the last 1 months and i'm trying to save money so decided to use one.Much rather use sunline :) this stuff is really stiff and thick but the sunline in really thin and limp.Haha i aim to see this backing again!Cheers for the advice lads

  9. haha pity that wasn't one of the three options :) no 12lb lying aroundI just spooled the 5lb on there and it fills it 3/4 of the way...Just checked and the 5lb power pro is around two thirds thicker than my 8lb sunline braid.Thats kinda annoying, I've got 15lb under my 8lb so i'll use it for this tooPower pro always this bad?

  10. Hey lads,I'm respooling my 2500 with 150yds of 5lb power pro and i can't work what backing to use.Normally i use a 300yd spool and fill it totally but i have two 150yd spools of 5lb and one 125yd spool of 6lb lying around so i have to use one.150yds won't half fill the spool so my options are:1) 6lb mono2) 8lb mono3) 15lb monoI'm not sure what to use as the braid is going to break at around 10lb.Any suggestions lads? I'm doing my head in trying to work this out

  11. I bought one when they first came out and lost is on a seal :(But the second one is still going! I love it! You can hardly see it when it is in a tommy but the hooks still sit out proud.Highly rate this! I gave all my old squid pins away, just no need for them! It can be slightly harder to hook the squid but they will attack again and again even if they fall of when you lift them

  12. I figured that was the case. Each fisher is responsible for his/her own bag limit.I'm pretty sure that is the legislation but there is literally no way to enforce the rule unless you're a fisheries officer on the boat for the WHOLE time. So impossible to enforce. On a lighter note is was a great catch and i'm sure the fellas had the best intentions at the time.Tight lines lads :)

  13. Again missed the pointHe admitted the two of them caught them all. To reiterate TWO PEOPLE CAUGHT THAT CATCH by his admissionI've assumed nothing incorrectly, merely stated the facts as they have been presented.Boat or no boat two people can't do that. Doesn't matter if they were landbased or in a boat so i'm unsure as to why that gets brought upWhatever... CFB arguing this

  14. I assumed initially he was on a boat to get a catch like that, but my issue was he indicated 2 people caught 37 squid which is illegal. Boat or no boat. He has now stated there was a third person on the boat who was not fishing and as I don't know the technicalities involved as to whether this is legal or not I will not comment.Using squid/cuttlefish as an example1 person on land = 15 combined squid/cuttlefish1 person on a boat = 15 combined squid/cuttlefish2 people on a boat = 30 combined squid/cuttlefish3 people on a boat = 45 combined squid/cuttlefish4 people on a boat = 45 combined squid/cuttlefishetc.It is our responsibility to learn and follow the rules.Fish for the future

  15. "had free couple of hours yesterday so headed out with A MATE local and got stuck into some squid and snook"If you only mention one friend it's fair to assume there were only two present. Hence my response  P.S Thought i'd add you have the fish/squid lined up in two distinct piles with a line drawn in the sand between them (Also would indicate the catch of two different people)I'm glad you are aware of and follow the rules though
