hi ive never flyfished but had a look at that popper link I recon you could use disposable earplugs. I think you should get them at bunnings or try a safety gear shop you can get them in heaps of different colours good luck

looks greatis it made of wood or foami recon you could coat with epoxy to make waterproof then your shiny stuff on top .just an idea ??I would not mind giving that a go i have made metal lures but theres not that much skill to them,keep it upit would be great to see a photo with that hanging out of a fish

i think i get that idea i guess i could hang something like that of my beltI am thinking of marking a rodi have a blue light rod i use for most beach fishing and the epoxy is starting to peel i may sand back and put some marks on does permanent black marker rub of with the clear coateI have seen interesting thread wraps on rods I wouldnt minddoing some fancy wrapping with measures on it might be a winter job once the light fishing slows a bitcheers for your ideas

I have a ruler on my tackle box aswell but when im fishing i can wonder a little and dont like walking back to my tackle box with a live fish atleast with a quick check with my hand tells me if its legal or not so i can chuck it back quicklyI tend to let things go if im a little unsure so generaly the fish i keep are a little bit over legal I feel its better to keep the bigger ones anyway [easier to clean}

I might give ya carp recipe a go with some of my bigger salmon from my last trip i get a bit bored of them after a while

yeah ive got to watch what i say around hearif i was fishing maslins id have to change my name to white pointer or somethingI dont go there much too many "snags" woops

good luck i was going out with a dodgy set up telling my self that if i got a legal i would buy myself a decent rod and reel first time out 32cm bream on plasticwent out and got a decent setuphavnt caught a legal bream on plastics sincecaught heaps of other stuff and now have a tackle bag full of different lureswill give it more of a go when it cools down and beach fishing isnt as much fun

did you buy your rod like that or have you added it i have always thought it would be a good idea and an excuse to go shopping

yeah i know i keep joking to my kids they should get tatts now cos it would be cheaper god knows what they would look like in a few years would that tommy tatt turn into a salmon or whatwhy dont they print rulers on rods??

pwilly port willy is wear i fish at least twice a week and i joined up hear to get some help on the local area and hopefully land a few and it has workedat the moment thinking of changing to browns as thats all i can think about

i use the almanac but mainly to limit my fishing to "black days" so i dont obsess about fishing all the timedoes any one understand the times we are supposed to add half an hour and take one hour of for day light savings and a lot of the hot times seem to be in the middle of the day or night not the best fishing times in m,y headi usually fish sunsett on a black daylast week at browns we had better luck on a grey day than on the blackshave had the same result at pt willythe book just gives me a bit more confidence and the missus can work out when im gonna dissapear a bit easiercheers justin

I often get out for a fish and forget to take something to measure my catch with .I have often thought of having rulers printed on my rod some how and have been honestly thinking of getting a ruler tatooed onto my self or getting tatts of legal fish to compare my catch to.on my last trip to yorkes a mate showed me how he meausures with his hand and i have now measured my handspace between thumb and first finger 19cm thumb and second finger 21thumb and pinky 23now i dont have an excuse for new tatts .hissy. or undersized fishcheers justin
