  1. I was fishing there quite a few years ago with a mate on the jetty when some guys came up to chat with me. Then they went to chat with my mate and left. 10mins later my mate came up to me and said "those a@#$5s stole my fishing box."Can happen!
  2. Noticed something interesting today.Yesterday when the termites were flying I thought that it would be a good time to re-locate a trout from one pool to the next. Caught 40cm female around 5pm and put her in a bucket. Then relocated her 100metres to a different pool. Today at 12 noon, only 19hrs later she was merrily feeding. Interesting
  3. thats amazing. A book that could only sell 30 copies when it was first published (indicating not popular) now sells for over $3,000.
  4. Fishing at Mallacoota a few months ago I did this. Took me about 5 goes to get the hook out and then fished on.
  5. I don't mind paying a fee if that fee is used for the betterment of fishing. As said earlier, enforcement would be the first place I would spend the money. To give an example, in 48 years of fishing I have only been approached by one fisheries officer in SA. At that rate it would almost be worth trying to get away without a license. Having said that, I have often been approached in NSW, Vic, Tas, and NZ by a fisheries officer. Of course I had a current license. On a recent trip to WA I had to buy a RFL as I was fishing out of a boat, if I had been land based there was no license required. This

  7. Blades do work well on a variety of species, but it depends on the situation.Snook and Tommies can be quite finicky at times, and Yellow Fin Whiting on lures are not easy.Do you know if the fish you were after were wiling to take a different type of lure?Let the lure hit the bottom for Yellow fin.Try using very short hops when using Blades.
  8. Thanks guys.I have the GPS book, tried a few spots close in that are marked but only caught squid.Don't want to travel far off sure, 5kms is probably far enough
