Hey guys im looking at getting a baitrunner/reel to mount on the surf rod for $100.00 and under. What would you recommend?Im thinking Shimano st4000fa; daiwa regal bri 4500; penn live liner or forget the baitrunner and go with something like a sienna?Any thoughts?

Righto guys the end of the snapper ban is coming up soon , so who is going to join the massive rush to tag one in the opening week. If so where is everyone thinking of going. Theres alot of great spots to choose from but i am going to try my luck on yorkes, with a good mate and an inter stater who is keen to catch a famous SA BIG RED:)

Hey Guys i know this is a long shot but im looking for some structure within 15km of the turton boat ramp that may hold snapper. Im not asking for your spot x but just a point in the right direction.Ive had a shack over there for years and have a great spot out deep but i want to find something closer. I have done countless km searching the sea bed on my sounder but so far all ive seen is flat sand. I know there is structure out there somewhere but cant seem to find it, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have another one. We were out of point turton on my snapper spot all catching 80cm plus snapper. My brother in law was battling a nice fish when all of a sudden he says, "look at my line!?" I remember that mate you are talking a bout Salty, I think that was the same guy who on his first fishing trip cast his line from the back of the boat and forgot to hold onto his rod! Then dove in after it, throwing his sunnies of mid flight! He eventually got his rod of the sea bed and kept fishing!

Hey guys just been on Point Turton jetty and saw a bloke hook a 4-5 foot eagle ray.Battled with it for about 30mins then tried three times hoiking it up the jetty. He then decided to walk it to the shallows which he did easily because the ray was spent after getting dropped three times from about half way up the jetty. He then pulled it onto a rock and proceeded to cut its barb off. He then just pushed it back in the water where it just sank to the bottom.So my questions are, Is this legal and just the done thing?Does this harm the ray and maybe kill it?And why bother doing this if you arent g

Hey guys just wondering if anyone has an opinion on what light weight outfit they would use for snapper. I am usually an overhead man so would like to stick down that path. I already have an abu7000 and a charter special for the bigger deeper stuff and just wont something lighter for in close. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.
