  1. mate showed me how he cooks crabs other day best way of doing it i have found so far.. drown crabs in fresh water stops limbs dropping off.. have water on boil with salt .. pop them in water.. bring back to boil then leave 5 or so minutes. have an ice slurry with salt in also . this was the bit i found helpful place crabs in slurry upside down and it drains most of the crap into the shell. then peel off shell rip out lungs, mouth and give a quick rinse in water again was the cleanest i have ever seen them hope this helps cheers.if you are after a bargain on ice there is a house st kilda rd 22kg's $7.00 its flake ice aswell great for slurry.

  2. pump what you need and leave the rest for next session.I hear horror stories of some of the old boys metro way pumping a bucket load' date=' using a few the next day and dumping the rest dead....shocking practice. Certainly not sustainable fishing[/quote']an elderley man pumped about 100/200 at moonta one day then after he'd fished tipped them out when he was done i was still going and surprisingly got zippo after that not friggn happy!!i do keep mine o/nite but most survive with the airraetor going mind u i'm only keeping 20 maybe 30 cos the most yfw i have got in a session is 13 cheers.
  3. if you ever venture down to a boat ramp and see a pro boat ask them if they use burley!!! i fish with 3 blokes who have all been chasing them for over 15 years none of them ever use it. i went out with a mate from work last fri nite and he wanted to use it and i asked him not but said its your boat your rules he didnt end up using any we bagged out. (not that this happens all the time) we use the sounder to find structure we want to fish on but not to see the actual fish. more often than not they will turn sounder off once anchored.so AFF i dont use burley for anything other than gar and tommies cheers 4THALOVE
