  4. To much fresh water going thru at the moment 186 odd gates open, should see most of goolwa beach freshed out to, if your looking to wet a line id be heading elsewhere if your intersted in seals and birds head there.cheers SF
  5. my pb king george went 68cm 1.65kg was caught on half pilly and 9/0 cirlcle in 120m of water about 8 nauticle miles south west of west bay Kangaroo Island Was dry and tasteless but made a interesting sideline to the knife jaw and terraki we were targetting but never took a pic of it. Have seen a pic of one caught northcoast KI was 91cm and 3.6 kg was takenby a salmon fisherman in about 20ft of water, pics were posted in the Islander news paper 2008. A true monster. Its nothing uncommon to get into 50-60cm fish dwn there on the snapper grounds in 70m of water kidney slappers at there best.
  6. a pretty heavy bulky reel so i would sugest a silstar crystal tip 5'6" 10-15 in either m or h (h) has a gimbal tough as nails wont break it anyhow you try and a great tuna rod too. a pure work stick no finnesse with a reel that big no need to finnesse with the rod.cheers sf

  9. yer i guess i depends on what you want to throw weight wise and bait wise theres heaps of gear out there for the job most as good as the next just depends on how much you want to spend.i still hav my first surf rod silstar 11'6" mid winch and have fihed it with a baitrunner6500 its ideal for the surf hard as nails but have had a couple of 13 ft and a 13'6" coorong special built that can throw whole trout and 8oz a mile a real pelican stick.all food for thought.im with mully madness on this one
