  5. no sorry mate i cant say i have as i was always using them for mully bait, bream and that sought of thing so we were just using half fillets and strip baits.my guess doing them whole you would probabley better off having a crack with the brining just my opinion. cheers MM
  6. slimeys always come up best salted in my opion anyway , back on the east coast i used too work at the local fishermans co-op and was personally responsible for unloading the slimey boat everytime he cam in,now this worked exceptionally well in my favour as everytime he came in so did my fresh supply of bait at the cost of some labour that i got payed for anyway , but anyway gettin back on topic , i used too salt my slimes by placing a layer of newspaper down say 3 sheets thick cavoer that in salt then lay out as many fillets as would fit and then cover this with salt next layer of paper and so

  8. too right its law and yet soo many people just keep steamin along straight past i myself have towed the odd boat back too sullies here an there and everytime i have the person recieving the tow has been more then grateful and has usually topped my tank back up with their own fuel too let me get back out and enjoy the day, i found myself in a spot of bother 1 day with my pregnant wife and bor inlaw onboard when we underestimated the conditions and used just that little bit more fuel on the way back then there wasin the tank mind you we did make too aprrox a couple of hundred mtrs just outside s

  15. oh and this mornings session well lets say ill be feelin that 1 tomorrow after climbing the stairs at south port and then doing the stairs just before moana beach twice and the bit of a hill on the south side of moana aswell but none the less while my legs are still working and i have live worms im going too head out again and give sellicks area a try fingers crossed i find more then 1 of these fish at a time before winter. oh and a stoopid question for ya's i keep hearing about these "shitties" are they the pain in the ass little st/ tommies that kept stealing my bait cause back home we dont
  16. yeah i thought it was a bit strange too get em that far up at this time of year. last year my mate managed too get a couple of small st's up old noarlunga so i guess its not that uncommon then . cheers , MM
  17. ok anyone up for ayfw session this afternoon/evening drop us a line these things are starting too frustrate the shitter out of me tried 3 diff spots this morning for 3 doghnuts then went back too the second spot for 1 fish first cast then nothing again. ive had less frustrating times trying too catch mullies lol.
  18. im about half as silly as you with the nippers tp i know how too pump n so fourth just not where too get them round here although i do remember a certain mr southie mentioning something too me a couple of months back so i might have tii hit him up 1 day where as back home in a place called the shoalhaven river in my mates tinny you could pull up virtually any sand flat on low tide and pump enough nippers for a good fish with 4 blokes in less then an hour.
  19. thats the worms i got live bungums back home we just call em beach worms, but yeah i think ive got the rig side of things pritty much soughted now all i gotta do is find the fish .....oh if only that was always the easy part lol. cheers for the help though fellas, ill try giving em another crack down south here and if i still get a big doghnut i think ill have too employ the tactis of some of the resident yfw kings we have around here, for this weekend though ill just too the local side of things n cross my fingers . cheers,MM
  20. hey fellas was fishing the onk yesterday afternoon up at old noarlunga just where the bend comes into the town and too my surprize i managed too land myself a 30 cm or so salmon i knwo they do get up round that way in the cooler months but then i proceeded too be waterboys first customer this morning and headed too another part of the river bit further down stream too land another 1 of around the same size this morning, anyway im just wondering if anyone else has been encountering them in there sessions down the onk. cheers MM

  22. very much the same as tp just a size 8 long shank with small ball sinker i was using a leader of around 2ft but found they just kept picking it off before any decent hits so i shortened it back to around 1ft n seemed too feel better (when i get a hit that is lol ) guess its just a matter of finding a decent school and not spooking them too much i even tried basicaly skull draggin em in as quick as i could in hope of not spookin the rest but that didnt seem too go to well .MM
