Timbo45 reacted to Ranger in Sheeesh i have some Great mates!
After a little research back and forth, it has now been established that the crayfish in question was provided through a processor. The mate in question has a brother working at the processing plant. In light of this, the benefit of any doubt is provided by staff here, as we are not concerned with the actions of commercial operations, and the initial post has been modified to reflect this. Apologies for the interference by staff, and I thank Mick for the prompt work and attention to clearing this up.

As said, processors can hold live lobsters well after the closure of the season, we haveheld stock well into July in our tanks, and the public are welcome to buy them live, as long as the purchaser has the appropriate paper work for transporting live crays, which is given to them by the processor !Tim.....Enjoy you lobby Mick.....

Timbo45 reacted to statesquider in PREMIUM RED HEAD WHITE BODY SQUID JAG, FINALLY
Not to have a go but is this the same brand as the lures you get for free with modern fishing? Yoshikawa i think? Are they built well? All of the lures I have of theirs go straight in the bin. The bibbed minnows i have look like they were built for a total cost of 5c... One of mine even had a totally bent hook straight out of the packet...Must say though I have not looked at their jags yet!

G'day mate, fresh grated ginger, finely chopped red chilli, fresh corriander, garlic, fresh lemon thyme, lemon zest, a little bit of extra virgin olive oil, lime juice all go great with fish, you could make a dresing and put it on afterits steamed or rub it on the raw fish, wrap it alfoil and cook quickly in the oven. Dont forget cracked black pepper also....Have fun...Tim....

I think the SA fishery is very well looked after as far as size and boatlimits are concerned, the best in Australia i think ! Victoria is hopeless ,there min size on whiting , snapper and flathead are a joke , not to mentionthere boat limits !Tim....

My earliest memories are from the Port River, but I cant really remember my fist fish !Probably a trumpeter on a hand line. I was lucky, Dad fished every weekend either locallyor away, I can remember being washed in at Parsons Beach and saved by my older brother, washed in at Second Vally and being smashed up against the rocks and saved by a off dutypoliceman ! ( Dad must of hated taking me fishing ! Ha Ha !)I have a photo of myself fishingon the jetty at Port Elliot, and I would've been 7 or 8 I guess !( I'm 49 now )I can alwaysremember going to Edithburgh as a young fellow with Dad and I bought a metal slice ( Halco type) lure from the general store, first cast off of the jetty, casting towards Wool Bay,I hooked a big Garfish, I think that was the moment that shaped my fishing for years tocome, I still prefer fishing with lures than bait ! AS a youngster and a teenager I fishedall over the state, thanks to my Dad.I wished I was half the fisherman that he was !Tim...

G'day mate,Like Ranger said, 3.5k is a tight budget, but what ever you do, if you do find a f/glasshalf cab for that sort of money make sure it has'nt got a soft transom or soft/rottenfloor. What sort of outboard do you have ?Good luck, I hope you find what your looking for, theres nothing better than getting yourfirst boat.Tim.....
