  1. As said, processors can hold live lobsters well after the closure of the season, we haveheld stock well into July in our tanks, and the public are welcome to buy them live, as long as the purchaser has the appropriate paper work for transporting live crays, which is given to them by the processor !Tim.....Enjoy you lobby Mick.....
  2. G'day mate, fresh grated ginger, finely chopped red chilli, fresh corriander, garlic, fresh lemon thyme, lemon zest, a little bit of extra virgin olive oil, lime juice all go great with fish, you could make a dresing and put it on afterits steamed or rub it on the raw fish, wrap it alfoil and cook quickly in the oven. Dont forget cracked black pepper also....Have fun...Tim....
  3. I think the SA fishery is very well looked after as far as size and boatlimits are concerned, the best in Australia i think ! Victoria is hopeless ,there min size on whiting , snapper and flathead are a joke , not to mentionthere boat limits !Tim....

  5. If you know what O'brian ( fisheries minister ) did to the prolobster fishery this year, ( reduced quota, and closed october) withno scientific evidense, you land based shark fishos have no chance !The pro lobster fishery has a lot of pull, and they could'nt changea thing ! 9. No I don't mate, just boil it until its cooked , and smoke it while its still hot and juicy.Ive only just seen those harks in the wild coast mag, and my local "spot on" has one sittingout the front, looks great ! $310 bucks I think. I really like the idea of the gas, so muchless mucking round. Would you smoke fish, ham/pork, and cheese at the same time , or seperatly ? Also, do you wash it out after each use or just leave it to "season" it , so tospeak ? ( sorry for all the questions !)Tim....

Its horrible to see isn't it !A few years back, me and 2 friends stayed at the Edithburgh caravan park for a week, I didn'thave my boat, so we just fished from the jetty with good results. Every morning I wouldwatch this fellow and his wife who lived in the caravan park get the boat ready, launch it,head out to the Island ( watched them with binoculars) and return 2 hours later with there24 whiting, clean them and fillet them, and have a hours rest or so and then head out againfor another 24 whiting, clean and fillet again, all done by 4pm in the arvo !T

I was lucky, Dad fished every weekend either locallyor away, I can remember being washed in at Parsons Beach and saved by my older brother, washed in at Second Vally and being smashed up against the rocks and saved by a off dutypoliceman ! ( Dad must of hated taking me fishing ! Ha Ha !)I have a photo of myself fishingon the jetty at Port Elliot, and I would've been 7 or 8 I guess !( I'm 49 now )I can alwaysremember going to Edithburgh as a young fellow with Dad and I boug

Meatwurst, cabana, bung fritz, fresh white bread, eggs, bacon, snags, onions, sauce, and lots of beer !I like those Le-snackthings too , beer nuts , chicken chips , did I say beer ? Cornish pasties from Pt Wakefieldbakery ( not sure if you can still get them ! ) Take away hamburgers with the lot, countermeals from country pubs, beer, scotch, tomato juice for brekky and beer !Have I missed anything ?Tim.....
  18. Great fish mate, thumper KG, nice red too ! How do you eat the salmon ? I knock the the fillets off mine and smoke them...... Yum...Tim...
  19. I agree Carps, the wasted by catch from netters/deep sea trawlers is dreadful, but its acatch 22, humans like to eat fish, and not everyone wants to fish for them.Long lines....yes, but keep them way off shore !It's a tricky one , that's for sure !Tim....
  20. I work in the commercial fishing industry ( I'm not a fisherman !) I was in a fishing portin the south east for work ( we have a live lobster holding facility there )and was talking to a shark fisherman who I know very well who just got into port. He was tellingme that on that trip, net fishing for sharks, he hit a patch of mulloway. Pro sharkers arealoud to keep a certain amount of scale fish by catch, not exactly sure how much he said but its not much, maybe 40kg. Anyway, the mulloway kept coming into the boat and he said that the deck was covered in them. Not wanting to throw them back he ran
  21. G'day Southie,Can you get bran and pollard at Woolies ?Tim...
  22. Bran and pollard , white bread torn into small pieces, mix together with warm water tomake a nice stoggy mix and then add some tune oil. I only use small amounts , just enoughto get the fish interested, dont over feed them ! You get bran and pollard from stock feedsuppliers.Tim...
  23. G'day mate,Like Ranger said, 3.5k is a tight budget, but what ever you do, if you do find a f/glasshalf cab for that sort of money make sure it has'nt got a soft transom or soft/rottenfloor. What sort of outboard do you have ?Good luck, I hope you find what your looking for, theres nothing better than getting yourfirst boat.Tim.....
