Early 90's bronzie from Stenhouse Bay,just under 8 feet,2and a half hours on 15kgMid 2000's surf snapper from FWC near Yalata.......21lb.......nothing red about this one, pure chromeLate 80's mullie from North Arm,land based in amongst the mangrove/wrecks.......my pb at that stage,34lb on 8kgMy top 3
-
not sure if that's a mullet "he" has "down South"......looks more like a snake-head to me.......
-
they are great to eat fresh, but in my opinion don't freeze well......as bait they are also great fresh for mullies and snaps over that way........once they've been frozen, keep them for crab nets and sharks / rays
-
fresh fillets for breakfast every morning and the frames and offal into berley blocks for snapper
-
not locally for me........eastern Yorkes beaches are loaded with them on the morning high tides.Easter break,I got 40 each morning in a couple of hours until the sun got higher, and the tide fell away.all over 26cm,bigger ones giving 38cm a nudge.
-
and then we'll let you know when we see your name in hatch, match and dispatch.....
-
You are correct there sir........apparently.I was thinking of "the" Bender..........you guy's are referring to "a" Bender. But give that man a cigar anyway
-
thank you afishyfish, but I was off track with the name "Bender".......seems there is another oneMr.Keen and I have sorted it via pmnice pic though
-
Just noticed your signature Mr.Keen........a bit off topic,I know......I thought Bart Simpson was the "eat my shorts" fella, and Bender was the "kiss my shiny metal a$$" type......I'm old,and likely wrong though......
-
a fool and his money are soon parted.....buying beer by the glass.....agree"home brew sediment" puts lead in your pencil.......not like the half baked, triple chill filtered nancy boy beers that Duran Duran and Spandau Ballet listeners like to drink.............not sure how some breweries have the gall to call some of it beer........still,while there's yuppies, there will be a market
-
indeed......
-
old school beers for mine.......southwark bitter or coopers stoutkeep your clears, coronas, stellas, pironis and buds for cleaning your dunny with.....
-
it's called XXXX for 2 reasons........Qld'ers can't spell "beer" and it tastes like "pi$$"
-
takes all sorts I guess.........just because your missus has one, doesn't mean you need to be one......hers probably isn't as dumb as you.......
-
things do for sure, but this is a basic fundemental ,and should be taught properly right from the start.one third breaking strain of the line through a loaded rod,and or one quarter breaking strain on a straight pull from the spool.when you lose your fish of a lifetime, you'll wish your "sense of feel was better"........or you'd done it properly the first time.....
-
perhaps some of the people that surf the for sale section frequently, that come across a bargain surplus to their own needs, might flick tutty a pm?help the young fella out.
-
another satisfied customer.......
-
darker coloured water can indicate depth........so can a weed bed.......sometimes a "trap"an area of "still water" with waves breaking seaward and shoreward of it will indicate a gutter alsodon't be fooled into thinking that the water in the gutter isn't "deep enough".....with a good mix of berley, and the cloak of darkness, you would be hard pressed to miss out.over berleying will always result in rays.good luck

Being young and dumb isn't a problem,we all need to learn;it's when the same people are old and dumb is when issues arise.I would save my money a bit longer and buy quality.
-
more proof that scum isn't only on the surface of the Torrens
