  1. There's heaps of massive bream that size in the lakes... They usually school just under the kingfish' date=' and feed off the scraps left by the 10 foot plus bronze whalers that follow them. Or so I've heard.[/quote']what? kingfish and bronzies in the lake, man dunno which lake your talking about ay
  2. Silver Perch and catfish are protected' date=' so you shouldn't be trying to catch them.[/quote']Its not matter of "trying to catch anything" baitfish in the river and you will catch anything that comes by catch and release if its protected species no harm done,so ya see you make no sense lol your the one missing out, go be authoritive somewhere else mate. anyhow to the point, fish with live shrimp your in the chances to catch anything even whopping carp many a time thinkin i had a mssive callop or cod, fish near any woody sticky structure you can find up near lock 5 as samrota rightly suggested,iv found aswell the callop are most prolific in ares of flow believe it or not.. the united servo at barmera sells nightcrawlers "bigger than tiger worms" i always get a packo of them to use whilst im waiting for shrimps in me pot big callop go MENTAL over them, good luck buddy, nice down there at the moment you gotta pick the spots wisely the more quiet and out of the way the spot the more fish present :P

  4. Yes Id be buying the old model as its already tried and tested' date=' looks more rugged and like most things the original often ends up being the best.At $419 for the older 5000 model, how can you go wrong.Im not a huge fan of the mag seal either.[/quote']What about the MAGseal has made you not a fan of it?
  5. yeah cheers FF ' date=' but if i can pull up an park with no fences no signs and the water is right there an no one stops me then i think i might have a crack .[/quote']In theory youd think this should be the case, sadly it is not and if someone wanted to hastle you they could very well do so. bottom line is fishing is good and its not a criminal activity in my eyes
  6. Very doubtful it would be a brook trout as Brook trout populations depend on cold' date=' clear' date=' well-oxygenated water of high purity, and i have never heard of one being encountered in South Australia. Post the link for this video, sounds extremely odd but very interesting, so curious to see whether it is a brookie. Trout Trout Trout :P[/quote'']I'm pretty sure there are some brook trout down south, if you know where to look.... only a few spots...Sambo
Very Big Laugh to that one as brook trout have never been stocked in South Australia. On top of that it is factual information that the condition of the stream really does have to be top notch and even in the Snowys where the water quality is good there are only a few creeks that theese fish can live in comfort without peril.Even if someone got there hands on some to stock into a creek and thrown them in, there mortality rate would be extremely high and they WILL very quickly die.As for your video Jimbo, cool stuff its great fun isnt it. However they were all nice little browns no brookies there, also you must keep in mind that the section of the torrens you are fishing is under lease from SAFFA and deemed no access to the public by SA water so it probably wouldnt be too wise putting footage up of you guys fishing there. Not the smartest thing to do really.Doesnt this site have conditions against that kind of thing? maybe this ranger fellow should analyse this. FF

  8. Your an idiot mate, your trying to heckle logic to make YOURSELF feel better MATEMr Willy, I agree with you 100% Translocation of fish eggs via birds is a big possibility if you still want to argue, however i have no doubt in my mind that if anything of a small enough size wants to go into the lake it will. fish do what they want, and "you never know". i dont even want to write anymore as it seems such a 'no brainer" to me.Guess its cus i haven't got my brain smothered with Berkeley stickers :P
