  1. Its 4.5m, I cut about 2 inches off the tip, and the rod is very light (only 4 wrap) but its got some guts. The reel on it is in 4000 size and its got 12lb braid on it, its a perfect rod for metals for sambos.
  2. Blank came in today, and have already started building it. Pics should come up tonight.
  3. Yeah most likely chop a bit off depending on the blank. I havent seen it yet but I will decide ofr sure tomorrow.
  4. Will do, hey do ya guys have the rod? and what do ya use it for?
  5. Building it myself Love building rods and ya get more satisfaction catching a fish on a rod that ya built yaself.
  6. Cheers, hanging for the day the blank comes!
  7. Anyone ever had or seen one of these blanks before? I have ordered on the other day and I was interested to see if they are good or not. Bought the blank for sambos and once tis made I can post up a pic if anyone is interested?

Thats where I have caught them, but on the port river side Try lures at low tide, and livies once the gate closes. Put in the hours there and you will definitely get them. Not only schoolies there either, every year a few big ones get caught there.

At west lakes, you need to put the hours in exploring the drop offs, and such. I have found whenever I have hooked one the in there, the bream tend to be scarce on the same day. A good starting point is at around the bower rd reserve, and around western steps by trimmer parade. Happy Hunting!
  11. A falthead looks like a flattie with a head upside down and swims on the surface... common in the port
  12. Cast out lures around the onk mouth, brighton and seacliff and you should get some keepers.

New moon. Hounded by them last night at Rapid Bay.
  14. Agree with ya there meat is so sweet, not right to waste any!
  15. Cheers fellas, happy with yabbies, pet redfin needs some food. Might have to con my mate into taking me to Wirrina Dam.
  16. Anyone know whats lurking in the creek there? We are going to Rapid Bay tomorrow and so far the weather reports have not been encouraging so I need a sheltered spot as fall back. Is the creek full of bream, or redfin and trout?
  17. Yep 3 out of 6 of the best eating fish are in me signature methinks.
  18. Have seen a small one in the shallows of semi a few yeras back. West Lakes is your best bet for them though...
  19. Nup, just got a good book lying around somewhere...
  20. I rate fiddlers and flatties very similar... both heaven on a plate.
  21. Hey man, how big was it? I might be able to give an answer/
  22. KG whiting in the shallows, tommies at the end. Marina holds bream and zebrafish. Edithburgh is the sort of spot where you need light tackle as the fish can be very finicky there, and berley helps.
