is it a good idea to use a dropper loop to attach a pre-snelled hook for the first hook and an overhand loop to attach the bottom pre-snelled hook? I find it can create tangles and maybe isn't as natural as a hook snelled directly onto the end of the line? but if the fish swallows the hook and you have to cut the line then you've shortened the rig and you have to resnell a hook while fish might be on the bite. I use pre-snelled hooks and loops because it's so dam hard to snell a hook.

I recently read that a long 'whippy' rod is what you need for Gar as it can handle the float well and cast it out to where the gar are. So anyone have any recommendation for a rod before I go out and buy one? I don't want to rely fully on the advice on the clerk as he may be influenced to sell surplus or old stock. This is for land based fishing and don't mind spending a bit for a good quality rod.

how do you use the squidgy flick baits? I've tried a few times going for snook but with no success. have no idea if I'm doing it right or night as I don't really have any experience with soft plastics.

spear fishing them on the flats sounds like fun, have to get a spear and try that one day. in the mean time what sort of rigs do you use for Flounder in W/Lakes?

where are flounders found? I've never seen this fish before ever but have been wanting to try for a long time. after some land based areas where they are know to reside either metro or down south preferably

i'v always had good luck with Slimies at Rapid Bay using prawns bought from the Delaware shop on paternoster rig. Usually they start biting at night time and usually in bad weather. Having said that it's been a few years since I last fished for them, mainly due to the distance of Rapid. great fish though and quite tasty too, I should go fishing for them again

after quite a while trying locate worms I've found me a good spot. I used the ole stinkbag method and seen them poke their heads out of their tubes. I put a tentacle near to them to entice them out and grab onto it. the problem is after they grab it and I try to put my other hand in the sand they immediately let go and retreat. it seems like its impossible to be quicker than the worm. what am I doing wrong on youtube videos it looks so easy they just pull the worm out without any trouble. but on the videos they somehow pull them up without the tube. so do I even have the right worms? they are
