  1. I already have a 12ft surf rod for a Slammer on it. Havent used it yet but I guess it could be used for Snapper as well. @Kelvin dont you just get paranoid about dropping or sinking expensive gear? You must have a fat wallet :D@Smokey I have seen the "Murado power" on youtube. They certainly work for you but no one else rates them? Still I wouldn't mind a 9ft combo anyway so I will get something and use it for Snapper and other species as well. I cant cast an alvey more than 20m :(, so thats not an option at this stage :D I think mono is definitely the go as rocknew has said. I think I will stick with Platypus line though, never failed me and I have no reason to change.

  2. Hey guys, Need a combo for land based Snapper off the rocks. I was thinking a 9ft rod but when I picked one up in the store it felt a bit big. Maybe 8 foot would be better. I want to perhaps use it for throwing around lures if I feel like it. Just wondering what you guys use or would recommend. Not looking to spend too much, will probably pick something up when some sales are on. I am starting to learn using expensive gear can make fishing stressful. Cheers

  3. If you are looking for a bargain, head to West Lakes Kmart, they have Penn combos for $35, usually they are $79. Rods are pretty good and the reels will last if not abused. For that price I would be going for them over eBay noname gear.

  4. At night there should be plenty of Snook and Tommies under the lights. Try for squid at dusk if the tide is high and not moving much, try at the very end.Whiting should be around still in the shallows at night, very swallow so don't walk very far. They were hot about a month ago not to sure now though.

  5. Compleat Angler in Wallaroo had packs of the All Terrain for $1.50, I haven't been there for a while but they might still have a few on Special. No idea about the hook sizes or weights though..I looked at them and thought they would be too difficult to use so never bought any. I think they are site sponsors so maybe give them a call.

  6. Cheers guys, will give it a go next week, I think I have a good idea on where to find them. Going to try areas where I have seen other people doing it and then might explore areas closer to home. Nothing better than free bait :D

  7. I am in need on a good whiting bait, I live in Port Pirie so live worms are not available :( Would I find any clickers around this area, I fish from Wallaroo, Pirie, Port Augusta and areas in between. Anyone got any clickers here? What areas do I pump them in? Anything to look for? Cheers

  8. Avoid them at all costs, anything with the name Pelagic or Kamikaze in it is trash, I know this from personal experience. I suggest spending your hard earned on more reputable brands. I would rather have one high quality lure than 5 pieces of trash.
