  1. Bagged out with one of these yeaterday Cheers Dazz
  2. Tossing up either getting a factory made OR buying the Sage blank and getting Rob to practice his rod building skills with it! Ha ha ha. Gotta ditch the P.O.S. line and get something decent for it too.I'd go with the factory build for sure  What line did they send you, get yourself a RIO LT DT3F line mate, suits the Sage's delicacy beautifully. Cheers Dazz
  3. I can only wish mate, one trip at a time will have to do me for a while Cheers Dazz
  4. Sweet bit of bling mate. Now for a nice little Sage TXL-F 7'10" 3 weight to go over it would be nice and you'll have a ripper setup.Cheers Dazz
  5. Might have to tie them a bit bigger 1fish but I reckon you could be right Cheers Dazz
  6. The dumbell eyes at the rear are for the weight mate and yes they can definitely be cast with a very light spin outfit too.Cheers Dazz
  7. Something else I've added to the flyboxCheers Dazz
  8. Some for the Whiting.Cheers Dazz
  9. I've been tying a few Bonefish flies for a trip in January to the Cocos Islands. This was something different for me to tie instead of Christmas Island Specials to help break the monotony.I liked this fly after seeing one so I thought I should add it to my collection for the trip.I'm really looking forward to kayaking and walking the flats flyfishing in the Cocos Islands and hopefully smacking a few of the monster Bonefish and GT's this place is known to hold.Cheers Dazz
  10. Your welcome Tom.Cheers Dazz
  11. Ahh that's right, you have a closed season over your way don't you.Luckily we don't have to suffer that sort of thing here as trout are classed as vermin   Hope you do well before it all shuts down . Now I'll just go back to tying flies, got something like 500-600 to do Cheers Dazz
  12. Good stuff 1fish. I haven't had a chance to fish for the past 2 weeks, been busy tying flies for an upcoming Bonefish trip on the Cocos Islands Cheers Dazz
  13. I tend to agree with you Darren.Just one thing though mate these aren't nymphs.Spiders are soft hackle wets so no wingcase required.Cheers RollcastI wasn't commenting on the spiders rollcast , just saying how I tie my nymphs to show it's alright to tie flies with the beads away from the eye.Cheers Dazz
  14. 1fish,Try tying a few strands of pheasant tail fibres over the bead as a wing case then give it a coat of nail polish or Clear cure goo. Looks very nice and very natural as the colors of the pheasant really show through. Nice tie on the nymph too.Cheers Dazz
  15. They look good 1fish and those barbless Knapek hooks are very nice hooks to use aswell.Tony I hate to do this but I disagree with you about the bead being against the eye generally.I actually tie alot of my nymphs with a flash back on them and that is tied in over the top of the bead and tied in at the head. All it is is a kind of sparkly back on the fly. It also gives the nymph a slightly different posture on the drift too. Mind you I do tie a hell of alot with the bead against the eye but there is no problem either way.Cheers Dazz
  16. Thanks mate, I'm self taught and have made alot of mistakes along the way but I do enjoy a challenge and this is one big challenge sometimes. Hopefully the mistakes I've made along the way have gotten less aswell Cheers Dazz
  17. No mate these are used to catch Atlantic Salmon and are based on patterns that are a couple of hundred years old. I only tie these for relaxation and to frame as gifts for mates e.t.cOh and of course to go on the walls of my fishing room. The feather you think is a lace wing is actually a Golden Pheasant Crest feather and is used to just drape over the top of the main wing to form a kind of halo effect.I hope that explains it.Cheers Dazz
  18. No mate the B10s aren't but all I do is give them a rinse in freshwater after use and they stay in good nick.Cheers Dazz
  19. Easy mate, ones brown and the other is yellow. You just have to work out which one I use :woohoo: :woohoo: Cheers Dazz
  20. Geez another one of you mob, my son follows them aswell and the missus is all crows.Makes my house very interesting during footy season. Cheers DazzP.S. We still have a better chance than the Bombers :woohoo:
  21. Tony you could use a Gamakatsu B1Os, nice wide gape, thin strong wire and sharp as all hell.Besides that just a simple hook like a Gamakatsu SS15, once again light strong wire but just a normal J hook, sharp as hell aswell.Cheers Dazz
  22. That would work when the bream are hunting terrestrials around overhanging trees. Might even rustle up a few Cod Good find Tony.Cheers Dazz
  23. To tell the truth Highfly I have never fished a baited breath yet I have heard they work.I'm still hung up on fishing my own concoctions, maybe I'm being short sighted but it works for me :cheer: Cheers Dazz
  24. Tell me that when we win the flag this year  Cheers Dazz
  25. Thanks Jaggs that's how it should be Cheers Dazz
