  1. Thanks yorke_angler I rang the number and they have not had the fishing charter for about 6 yrs.
  2. Hi all, anybody know of a fishing charter outfit in the Victor/Goolwa area ? looking for a half day trip for three.Cheers TomH
  3. slightly off topic. Just returned from KI and charter operator said the biggest KG they had caught was 77 cm, but most of ours was mid 30cm.
  4. Father's name was Samuel so I am Sam's son hence samsson for many years I was called TTP by mates at work because there were 2 Tom's in our area so I was Tom The Pom. Now I naturalized you can't tell :icon_lol:
  5. hey ranger that reminds me of what old George Burns said, Quote "i got married by a judge, I should have had a jury. :icon_lol:
  6. so much for the mens views, I wonder what the ladies think of it, I will have been married 47 years on the day the poll closes. The choice should be made by the 2 people concerned.
  7. Very interesting articles from tonyb, the weaver and yakatack, local info, tips and tricks from local fisho's. Only half way through issue 4 , a great read so far.
  8. That is a excellent catch ChuckT, well done on the camera, and great to see the effort that went into the safe release.
  9. Thanks for the replies guy's, did not explain problem very well. the line is not getting caught going through the eyes but rather a loop of line forms and drops down below the rod then the loop catches on one of the eye's and then wrap's around the tip 2 or 3 times. Good advice about going in to the tackle shops, tying braid to mono leader needs a uni degree rather than a uni knot (or whatever) when using stumpy fingers and thumbs, must be an easier wayCheers
  10. Coonta Kinta not using swivel to keep it as light as possible,(maybe try a swivel next time though) the line seams to get caught on the 2nd or 3rd ring from the top and wrap around from there to the tip. It nearly always occurs when I have have retrieved and I am changing bait or after unhooking fish ie. the rod is at rest if you know what I mean.Cheers.
  11. Hi I'm a novice at using braid, and just to add to the discussion, I have found using braid in the wind tends to give me more tangles around the tip of the rod and on the spool,(maybe just my technique needs to improve) hence more down time from fishing. I like the "feel" of the vibrations the lure puts out when retrieving using braid. but like the simplicity of fluro.
  12. Can anyone post a pic or link to view this type of reel?Cheers
  13. good point on disposing of the left overs from the desal. plant,? is there a use for salt? Using pumps and pipes, how far out does it need to go to stop it coming in again? Using ships to dump it, how much cost is added to the finished product ? I don't know the area but is a wind farm viable to drive the plant? Hey fishnfreak may be put a wind farm fan on the 5th fairway and call it a man made hazard. {SMILIES_PATH}/grin.gif
  14. Hi Guys, 20, mil over 3 years devided by 7 {SMILIES_PATH}/huh.gif??? would SA get one seventh? {SMILIES_PATH}/huh.gif or would we get some proportional amount because we are only small fish in a big pond. Also as has been mentioned the old saying "talk is cheap" does not apply to politicians, their talk can be very expensive.
