  2. sorry dont have a picture as i did,nt have a camera with me at the time as for the size of the fish it would have been the same size as a legal bream it was light green in colour with purple markings on it kind of rainbow coloured and had small razor sharp teeth on it looked like a rass species to me
  3. nah they don,t look like that more of a lighter green in colour and more of rass looking species
  4. hi fellas just wondering if those green rock cod u can catch might be a rass species at cape jervis

  6. yeah totally agree with all that,s been posted here went crabbing there in january what bonehead could,nt realise that the pipe should have gone under the jetty not alongside it if you want to crabbing there now it,s first in fist served cause all you really got left is the bit at the end and the northern end you can,t really use 4 crabbing cause u got all the jetty jumpers in summer plus the jetty itself is not that long dont think ill be crabbing there again im going back to henley or sempaphore
  7. best to go when the wind has settled down anywhere from mid november to mid march and if your planing to fish around wardang island i would take a decent sized boat last time i was there i was fishing the northern end of wardang island in a 5 meter inboard and a white pointer came up alongside and cleared the boat by a foot and half easily
  8. personally i would,nt eat anything from the onk as it,s used as a sewage outlet
  9. oh you mean for putting up on walls like in the servo smoking is a good method
  10. i personally did,nt have a bad session at semaphore this year with three nets 36 blue crabs all keepers all male in 8 and half hours also i reckon dropping the crab limit to 20 crabs 4 land based crabbers is a bit steep when it is the boat limit that should be dropped which was way over extravergent in the first place from 120 to 80 and for land based crabbers from 40 to 30 or 25 not 20 that i believe would be fair as jetty based crabbing is,nt the main cause could,nt say the same 4 some rakers out there unfortanatly
  11. yep that,s right and the shack is on the left hand side after you go through the mouth
  12. it was when back then you had to get over to hindmarsh island by ferry and have someone pick you up by boat and have the boat take you just around the bend of hindmarsh
  13. not quiet sure if it was the coorong all i remember is when i was at my old mans freinds shack ray and his son cain,s back in 1990 it was south west from that shack to put out the pots
  14. anyone out there know if crayfish are still being caught where the shacks are around the bend of hindmarsh island might be the coorong shacks been a while since i was there back in 1990 and you go southwest from the shacks on dingy and put out the pots

  17. just keeping cockles alive in fresh saltwater from goolwa beach is a good way of purging just in the esky make sure you take a couple of buckets with you so you can take some more fresh saltwater from goolwa beach for changing the water in the esky your keeping the cockles alive in so you can change the water three changes of water over a period of three days should be ok after that may be a little sand left as for cooking cockles minced garlic white vinegar sweet chili sauce steamed beatiful
  18. no been there plenty of times after you have turned left where the army cannon is you go all the way to the firing range then you go on the dirt road you can go straigt all the way down or you can turn right and cross a saltwater creek on low tide and keep going till you reach a camp site
