  1. Think mines still bigger than yours but ... 😄 lol
  2. What is it.... It looks like, .... Um.... Who cares!? I'll just keep looking to try work it out 😄
  3. The scary thing is also, that despite adelaide having very few lightning strikes per year, because of the dry climate, it has some of the biggest voltages, as the lack of moisture in the air makes it need to buildup a huge amount of energy to be able to arc that far without a good conductive path! I only know that from trade school when we coverd surge suppression devices. They use the biggest in sa.
  4. Thought my braid was stuck on spiders web or something... As about 1ft off the surface, all the way out. The clicking lasted probbrably a good 5 minutes too. Think I'm very lucky, because I had no shoes, standing on sandbags on low tide, and bags were wet still, as they're normaly under water, and I had walked across them while they were still under water. Graphite rod, drizzling rain.... Should have bought a lotto ticket that day!! Bagged out on the yellowfin 2
  5. Yes, I herd clicking, every 3 or so seconds a click. In a perfect rhythm.
  6. It's hard to leave when the whiting are biting 😋
  7. A girl on the breakwater next across from me had all hard hair stand up at the same time! There was no lightning though?
  8. Could have been a bullet mrfish? Someone taking a potshot at you with sound suppressor?
  9. Yep! That was Im pretty sure when it was! I also freaked out abit! Got out of there pretty quick! I thought you couldn't get tsunami's here... But I sure as hell wasn't going to hang around to find out I was wrong the hard way! I'm glad someone else saw it, it's had me puzzeld how no one seemed to know of it happening. It was genuinely scary how much and how quick it happened! Dirtied the water up and dumped a load of weed in the shallows as far as I could see in both directions! Ended my days fishing in 15 minutes of me getting there.
  10. I got 1 for you mate! Fishing off the beach near Glenelg, high tide, in summer. ... Next minute the water retreated the length of westbeach breakwater within about 15-20 seconds causing almost Rapids from so much movement, then all rushed back in?? Like miniature synami?? No one else I've asked seems to ever have seen it apart from another South african fisherman I know, who can't find any explanation from anyone either? No ships coming past, only slight breeze... If there was a person swimming, they would have been sucked out a fair way with no hope of swimming against it. Only seen it
  11. Well said mate I thaught my knots were good till old underpants hassled me enough about that FG knot long enough to make me test it out and I had to eat my words 😋 I'm very impressed with it! Takes abit of practice with realy thin braid to not cut through the leeder when pulling it up tight, and you can't do it too easily standing in the water, but it's a dead set winner! Thin to thick, thin to thin, tiny knot, definately 100%+ strength and casts perfectly! So I think I've Goda try a few more of these new 1's to keep with the times 😊
  12. Just going to have to do some real field testing myself 🐟🐠🎣
  13. Too much conflicting information! Guess it comes down to the line you use being one of the biggest factors I would have to say.
  14. http://www.bassmaster.com/tips/tackle-aaron-martens# Then you got this guy, apologies, no video.... Goda read this 1
  15. Fg knot is also ment to be 100% + and I'll agree with that, as I've never broken the knot. But it's plain to see why when you look at it. I can't see any of those knots being true 100%ers. Imo
  16. Yeah, I haven't used it, or tried it myself yet, I've been searching online for a graph of % of strength of all fishing knots.... So much crap out there!! Just depends which site you look at all those five knots (apparently) are 100% strength... It did seem a little hard to believe! As I used to have a book in South Africa that had all the old knots and %. And the only 100% was a Bimini double, and obviously, only for doubles. Some sites I went on say the uni knot is better than the palomar knot, because they only test it with gradual increased tension, and under shock conditions (like head
  17. http://www.animatedknots.com/snell/index.php?Categ=fishing Finally! Haven't tested it myself yet.... About to
  18. Can't send the link to the apparently strongest snell.... Keeps sending the pg b4... I give up

  20. http://www.berkley-fishing.com/Top-5-Must-Know-Knots/Berkley-ae-top-five-must-know-knots,default,pg.html Learned a couple knots myself... I know it's not a snell, but I don't think the claims about it being the strongest knot are remotely accurate imo. I could be wrong, but these would be great to test any against
