Pictured is Jimmy McKelvey with a 78cm Blue Swimmer Crab caught locally and Steve Forstner with my first ever Bluefin Tuna. It was only a small one, but it leaves me plenty of room to improve. While the crabs are around in good numbers, please remember to check them for legal size and only keep what you need. Now for what was biting and where Elliston / Sheringa Quite a few good sized salmon have been coming from the beaches. A few sizable schools have been sighted just within casting range. This weeks pictures are of Leona Urban who caught her first ever Bluefin Tuna recently and with a Thistle Island King George Whiting measuring 57cm is Mitch Peak. 2 very nice catches indeed. We have had a few reports of good sized Snapper coming in since the ban was lifted on Monday. Please remember to check for other closures before you head out, as there are still some areas closed for Snapper until Jan 30th. Now for what was biting and where Elliston / Sheringa No reports received, but the Salmon and Whiting should still be a good option from the beaches. Around r

Lots of anglers are gearing up for the Snapper ban which ends at 12noon on the 15th. Many of us are looking forward to heading out and landing a few big fish. I am hoping to get my first SA Snapper for Christmas. In the pictures, we have Ash Smith (not on a boat for a change) with a very nice Mulloway and Kate Peglidis with a nice Tuna. Now for what was biting and where. Elliston / Sheringa Try the Elliston jetty for Tommies, and some good sized squid. Some decent Sweep are also being caught from rocks around the area.
