OLD SALTY 0
gday again ive seen these before but never this size. I have used them on galaxis in the past with great success. They are a gun bait in my opinion especially if they are around this size! reddie/trout would love them i would think.Anyway WHAT IS IT ???cheers Salty
Rickster 0
I would say Bardie Grub or other known name witchetty Grub, Hear they are killer for Murray Cod, so i would say reddies would love them too. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Witchetty_grub
OLD SALTY 0
cheers rickster, but ive eaten witchetty's and is nowhere near big enough! also im sure bardie grubs come from trees these little buggers come from in the ground. I found this one in the dead patch of grass after i pulled the pool down? I may well be completely wrong tho
tonyb 1,017
Yep, a Bardi grub!a large wood boring Beetle and the one you have there is just advancing from a grub to a full blown insect. Deadly bait for anything in the Fresh, particularly Cod Live in fallen Pine trees

Cal 480
Thats the larvae of a lawn beetle, you get them in the lawn if you dig it up.Can be quite a problem leaving pale patches as they eat the roots.Would be good bait. http://pestcontroloptions.com/grubs/natural-lawn-grub-control/natural-lawn-grub-control

Cal 480
Yeah I used to get those suckers in when digging over my vegie patch, the local maggies would mill around my feet pretty much waiting for one to be unearthed ,one in paricular would get the grub and fly up to the nest feed it to the babies then come back down wanting more, they would go na nas for them,oh and those grubs bite like :c if your not careful.
