carpfishingsa 0
we were wanting to do a spot of trout fishing but this time not with baits. Any recommendations on a hard body lure or soft plastic?
Chief 706
Have a crack at both Where is the fun in being spoon fedyou've caught them on Bait so a lure that replicates the bait you used would probably be a good place to start in saying that .... Ive never caught a trout before
samrota 1
Any small HB would work fine. Try brown trout and rainbow trout patterns. Strike pro, SX40's, HRTs.SP worms, yabbies, grubs also work. Also spinners are worth a try.Flick lures upstream, while wading upstream, pulling lures downstream. Trout face up current picking off small fish, etc as they get pushed down. You can get quite close to trout as you are stalking the from behind.Move from pool to pool as they spook easily. A few casts in each pool, then move on.Hope this helps a little.Great fun stalking the trout.
southie THE BANGA 2,304
if your fishing for torut in that dam you caught the ones on bait from, as said match the hatch... caught mostly of mine from there on yabby imatations or bug imatations... also any trout pattern hard bodies... my favourite is the sx40 in rainbow has caught more trout than any other lure good luck... that dam has had its fair share of lures thrown in it...... carpfishingsa and urhookedfish
