Thanks peelipeeli17
Alexsfishin1 781
It's pretty challenging to get a YFW on lure at semaphore. But I think bream fishing in west lakes is the go. Got a 31cm one on a GULP 2" sandworm Nereis yesterday.
southie THE BANGA 2,304
Not the right season for YFW along the metro coastline, you will be better off heading to westlakes as there are an array of species that you could catch!
Polonius 2
When is the season for yellowfin whiting in Adelaide? I thought when the weather is a bit choppy and getting colder that's when you get them.
Kelvin 2,200
YFW won't be back till at least October and usually November going by the last few years. If it is very warm metro sometimes the run will start late september
Kayak Noob 76
As has already been said, the Yellowfin are long gone. Best chance of whiting will be some KGW down further south. There has been lots of salmon around if you looking to use some lures, or Bream in westlakes.

Luke5600 61
When is the season for yellowfin whiting in Adelaide? I thought when the weather is a bit choppy and getting colder that's when you get them. Yellowfin whiting are a warm weather species so they leave once the temperatures starts to drop, normally when the crabs and flathead start to disappear the yellowfin will follow suit. During the colder months the king george whiting and salmon tend to move closer inshore and become more accessible to the land based anglers. Not sure on adelaide waters as I live on the spencer gulf but from the sounds westlakes would be good or hitting up a local beach for some salmon trout, put a bait rod out and you could pick up a king george or two as well
