pauly s 426
Wondering if its worth the big price jump to a elc downrigger rather then the manual? Anything else seperating the different models & which would be suited best for fishing in SA? Any1 know if you can buy localy or is over the net my best bet.

dutchy 451
What areas you fish & bombs sizes needed for depth? If you can justify the $ the electric that links to sounder & can auto adjust height not such a problem in the gulf manual fine I use a manual "downrigger shop " one from sydney great unit very robust but line counter not great Moggy23

If the only thing different about the two is the auto winder i think the manual would be fine and i could buy two of them for the price of 1 elc B4 i get to excited i better find a boat ahah
dutchy 451
Downriggers are a bit over rated land based A cheapy would be fine for shallow with small bombs
