snake 1
Here's a tip for live baiting for mulloway around the pylons of bridges u can't fish from, for example the Birkenhead bridge at Port Adelaide. Instead of tryng to cast ya baits hoping it will land exactly were u want it(usually weighed down with a heavy sinker which can affect the livies natural movements and eventually kill it!) Impale ya livie on the hook, grab a dog lead and a few rubber bands and of course ya rod and walk along the bridge until u reach the spot u want to fish, then tie the dog lead to the bottom of the railing with clip facing river, then lower ya bait to desired depth,( Have a ball sinker above ya swivel and rig ) and when u think u hit bottom lift it around 3 feet then hook 1 or 2 rubber bands depending on strength around your line and hook the bands to the dog clip and there u have it! your baits exactly where u want it and the livie can swim much easier, living longer and easily spotted by other fish. Free spool back to your spot and then just wait for something to grab the bait and break the rubber band's and then hopefully there will be yahoos all round!! And coz i'm such a top bloke i even drew a picture to show ya how it work's! It truly is a great way to fish those pylon's if ya haven't any access to a boat!!! good luck http://www.fishyorkepeninsula.com/images/attachments/RZgqBV7H__PC170041.JPG[/img]

Guest SuperThahn
I actually used this method a fair few years back and defintly works on the above mentioned bridges. Its getting the mullys to swim out from the bridge not underneath it. Its actually a variation out of an old trout fishing book where they did the same setup on a bridge using a pebble not a rubber band.

nicol 0
theres actually a better way to do this. you cast out your float and rod to the spot you want it, then attach a special swivel you can buy which clips to your main line, and off that swivel you have your hooks and live bait. you attatch it and let it go and the livie swims to where your float is, the fish can not swim left, right or backwards as theres a lever thing that prevents it.if your willing to pay like $9 ea
Tako 0
theres actually a better way to do this. you cast out your float and rod to the spot you want it, then attach a special swivel you can buy which clips to your main line, and off that swivel you have your hooks and live bait. you attatch it and let it go and the livie swims to where your float is, the fish can not swim left, right or backwards as theres a lever thing that prevents it.if your willing to pay like $9 ea those are good, a mate has tried it before. But when the current picks up in the port, your float will end up on the shore quicksmart. better with a sinker on the endThe bridge technique idea it brilliant.
