Steve-Bream-Fishing 4
he would have been using under sized bream and should have been reported to fishwatch, how do you rig a 28cm bream as live bait ??? ??? ???
Grumps 0
Bream only grow 1cm per year roughly....So the guy was using under-sized fish as bait and should have been REPORTED....Why use bream??????Mullet are a better bait...

Guest SuperThahn
I have caught a mulloway on a LEGAL bream fillet.I would also suggest that people dont accuse someone of using undersize fish when they DONT know....
Steve-Bream-Fishing 4
I have caught a mulloway on a LEGAL bream fillet.Thats fair enough I would also suggest that people dont accuse someone of using undersize fish when they DONT know.... usin bream as live bait When I read that STH, that says to me using undersize Bream
Guest Butters
There is heaps of better live baits around.. but sometimes ya cant get your preffered livebait..Not saying its right to use undersize bream for bait.. but i would chuck a bream fillet out if that was all i could get ahold of.. stu83 1
I've never used it as bait personally,But what i can tell you all is that i was once bringing in what turned out to be a legal bream at night couple years back just near jarred road car park bend , when WHAMMO!!! -- I Thought it was gone until i got it to the bank to look what the hell had just happened, and it had a bite/chunk missing from behind its head!!!!!!! Always thought it was a mully , now i know it was.!!Spewin it missed the hooks..... >:(Will post pics, just gotta trawl through them to find it...Watch this space.......Cheersstu
Guest matty_G
they were legal,or at least appeared to be,i didnt play copper and ask to measure them coz im not that sort of bloke.Had they been small in appearance i wuold have politely mentioned to him that such a practice isnt legal as alot of people dont know all the rules. He had one hook behind the head and another in the tail
Steve-Bream-Fishing 4
they were legalOh well he's quite within his rights to use them then

asbo 0
Used them off west beach a few years ago, leagl size of course only to hook up and then have the fish run staright back into the rocks,,, you guessed it bust off.I would say that would happen a lot, especially with Bream. Probably why people use Mullet.
weaver 271
It wasn't the bream that swam back into the rocks mate

benny 1
Ah what about trumpeter? theyre spikier and mulloway love them! I have also noticed that the bream get off the bite when theres mulloway around too, so this may be saying something...
Landbased 0
i think we should leave the bream alone as bait. mullet are heaps better and they are every where.
benny 1
Yeah agree with ya landbased, with trumpeter as back up if ya cant get mullet.
