Hey,Im currently using a shogun snap swivel like the one in the pic. Would it be ok to cut the swivel off and use one as a lure clip...how much difference would it make using the whole snap and swivel as a lure clip.i did buy a pack of decoy lure snaps in size 0. they were SHIT. i dont have hands like a girl so openning them was not possible at all so i threw them in the bin. if anyone has any ideas, that would be great.CheersMichael size=120http://www.fishyorkepeninsula.com/images/attachments/sVBvNyxO__snap_swivel.jpg[/img]

ok for metals used whole, might effect the action on small to medium hard bodys. with those small snaps i use a small (& i mean small) pair of needle point pliers to open & close em. use size 0 & 1 for my breamin hardbody luring. loop knots to loop on hardbodys would be the best option (i always take of those split rings, had'em cut into the mono or fluro in the past). just getting old & lazy using the clips.

Got any pics of them mate?. I tried a species of snap with a half a swivel on to a wide gaped loop. This was meant to limit line twist, what it achieved was to lose me an expensive "blade" by un clipping itself when it was wound up to the rod tip. Nearly 10 bucks for 5 swivels, 16 bucks for the blade, twas an expensive excercise in experience gaining ???On a more positive note, they didn't take up a whole lot of room in the garbage bin ::) ::)Cheers, tonyb.

Have a look at the Owner or Smith ones next time you're in a tackle shop. The spring metal they use in them is much better than the decoy ones IMHO. they are softer and more springy pluss the shape makes them a little less tricky. I've been using them for 3 or more years and have never had one open on me
