southslide 0
hey, has anyone used the shimano jewel's? was having a play with one in RnA's today and felt nice for the price thinking about getting one just for a bream snook etc. flicker?and i gave my penn applause a beating on rays the other day and since then its making an Occasional squeaking noise and gets abit hard to turn when using lures it'll be fine but when i pause then go to wind again itll be "tight" then go fine again till i pause again :s will a rebuild be fine or is sumthing gunna need to be replaced?cheers scott

spog777 1
You may have to pull it apart and check your shaft (interesting term lol ) to see if its been scored or had a piece break away

Piranha 76
I was just looking at a jewel a couple of days ago 7 ft 1 piece 1-4kg, went into the shop with a budget of $600 for a rod to target bream, perch and the jewel for me at $175 was a nicer feeling rod than the rods in the $300-$400 price bracket.I'll keep looking around but their certainly a nice stick.
