  1. Mooks, I do pretty much the same thing. Although with my abu I have to try and keep the tangled line away from the left side plate, otherwise the line goes in behind the spool and gets all tangled inside. Managed to bust a ratchet spring trying to pull the line out once and the ratchet button fell off...
  2. hook in the bum then thread it through the tail to just below the head, they will stay alive long enough.
  3. Last time I got the missus to cook me some squid pasta, she ballsed it up big time, tasted like tomato flavoured boot, which I ate with a smile and "It's nice dear..." :)Might have to give this recipe a go and show her up
  4. Sounds the goods.Hopefully I'll get into a fair bit of squid this summer, might have to look into pickling some.
  5. Would be best to do it before November 1, as the month long Snapper ban starts then. There are a couple of options when it comes to charters, the local operators offer local metro fishing, or shoot across the gulf to Tapleys Shoals (Near Edithburg, Yorke Peninsula). Or there are some guys that go from Cape Jervis. If you were going to go with a metro operator, I would definately skip the metro fish option and go for a Shoals trip.I've only been on two trips, so can recommend two operators.Glenelg Fishing Charters, need a minimum of 9 people for a shoals charter, $220 per person. Decent size boat
  6. Dammit, and I didn't win powerball either {SMILIES_PATH}/grin.gifCongrats Big_Ian

  8. This is interesting stuff so far.Just goes to show that word of mouth is such a powerful advertising tool, if you have something good and people like it, they will tell other people about it.
  9. Interested to know how people are finding StrikeHook.comA lot of new members (including myself) have migrated from another forum, but still how did you find this site?Personally I stumbled upon StrikeHook.com from a google search.
  10. maybe he just dyed his beard to look a bit more piratey? {SMILIES_PATH}/wink.gif
  11. Why don't you use flashearth.com instead of getting people to download google earth and save this, open this etc...Just use a frame page or something when you click on the 'view placemark' button to open up a flashearth link.like this one...It's our Gulf!Just a thought, would make it easier to view the marks.
  12. I bought this mag a few weeks ago and it was a good read on my drag shift {SMILIES_PATH}/smiley.gifAfter reading a few other mags, the thing I noticed was that alot of other mags have the same stories and reviews, I swear I read the same review of the 350 yam motor at least 4 times. It was good to see some original content and not so much 'they pay us good money to say this is good, so go buy it' stuff. Some more metro stories wouldn't have gone astray, but I suppose there is only so much metro stuff to cover. All in all a great mag, and definitely better than the other 4 mags on the shelf at wo
