  5. Thanks for the advise guys it is much appreciated I think I will be getting up a little early before my first job tomorrow and going for a couple hour yak. I tried throwing some white lightning plastics at the inlet I could see the mulloway there at first light but there was also a ton of bait fish to so the mullys might have already had there feed. I also tried a couple bridges had some small hits but nothing hung on long enough to hook up. I guess it will all be persistence but hopefully I land one soon
  6. Cheers For that guys was trying for mulloway the other day and was trying to find a hole but no luck
  7. Hi guys just wondering if anyone knows what the deepest part of the lake is and if there is a average depth. Cheers
  8. I like lures for bream but back when I used to catch them with my old man we used crabs we found in the mangroves and rocks at low tide and the bream would go mad for them in the port
  9. I just had to get them for my work ute some how i melted and blew out a spark plug and found it on my chassis rail. If you can find a rivet large enough for the hole that will be your best bet If not use a lot of thread sealant before you put the sleeve or bolt in or tap the hole without a sleeve and try and find a aluminium bolt. You want to try and use alluminium to alluminium and stainless to stainless and so on otherwise you create a reaction called galvanic corrosion that will create a negative and positive and it will eat away at your softer material in this case the aluminium and there
  10. Hi mate pm me I run a mobile welding company mate I can come and have a look for you we will be able to sort something out to get you on your way
  11. Hi mate welcome to Adelaide if you want to go of the rocks outer harbour is usually pretty decent for squid have got a few small snapper of there but is closed season in SA for snapper at the moment I believe. There is also the port river for bream salmon trout and mulloway but really have to put the hours in for the mulloway unless your really lucky. West lakes is good for much the same species as the port but there is arguement to wether or not you should eat fish from the lake 😷. Most jettys along the metro coast should hold squid and blue crab at the moment and snook at night under t
  12. Can't go wrong with pasta mate sounds fantastic I also like it in a pasta with prawns and scallops with a white garlic sauce with sweet chilli mixed in with spring onion and parsley to garnish. Might have to go out in the morning and try for some squid now I'm getting hungry

  16. Thanks for the feedback guys I picked up a shimano yak raider 1-3 kg rod I had one last year but snapped some how (dogs I assume ) Now am picking up a c14 1000 next week. In regards to line has anyone tried any of the fused braid I have heard that it tangled easy because it was extruded flat but there is a new Japanese one at bcf that is extruded round and is apparently really good any thoughts ?
  17. Cheers keenfisho that is exactly the situations I will be using it for what weight line are you using on that if you don't mind me asking

  19. Hi guys just a quick question I'm looking at a new set up for bream I was using a stradic 2500 fj model and a shimano raide 2-4 kg Rod but snapped the rod and drowned the reel on the weekend in a fight with a log on the kayak. I have opened the reel up and have ordered some replacement bearings and other parts for the reel but will probably use this as a back up reel now with some heavier line on it for some fun with bigger targets. What I am looking at is a shimano yak raider 1-3kg Rod and a shimano stradic 1000 on it what my question is will I still be able to target flathead and schoolies
  20. Agree with rotare on this one there are on average 70 boating deaths each year in Australia but nobody here would think twice about taking the family for a day out on the boat. As horrible as it is when something of this nature happens and I feel a immense amount of sympathy for the families and those affected by these events the fact remains that when we undertake any activity there will always be a risk that something can go wrong and that there are factors that are out of our control. People are smart enough to know that when they are in the water there will always be that risk that a sha
