You possibly could get them along the beaches (i've never tried), but you'll have better luck at Outer Harbor boat ramp or the fishing platform at the Outer Harbor rocks, near the shipping terminals.They might be running tonight too from 8pm onwards, or you'll have to wait til the beginning of August for the next run.Sam
  2. 3/4 of last nights land based efforts. The other 1/4 i'll keep alive for as long as i can. Was a good night for worming, with only a small shower coming through.Pretty happy with what i got. Sam
  3. Fine mesh net on a long pole and the best light you have. 2-4 days after a new moon. In June, July, and August. Out going tide at night. If land based you'll need a westerly wind to help blow them to the shore.Sam.
  4. Just got back from Outer Harbor rocks with a big bucket full of worms. Was only there for 1.5-2hrs. Having a good head torch helps a lot.They should be out tomorrow night too i reckon.Sam
  5. I've kept the longlife gents in the fridge for 6 months or so. Most were still very much alive. The ones in bran do not last as long.Sam.

  7. I've caught many weird things over the years. A seal on a live tommie topped it for me, off Port Giles Jetty. Was going for snapper, when my rod started screaming. Hooked what i thought was a nice fish, went under the jetty and out the other side. Could hear splashing on the other side of the jetty. Ended up busting off. Ran over with torch to see what it was and saw a seal trying to get the hook out. Felt so bad for the seal. Hope he's alright. Also caught birds, turtles, octopussies, some weird eel thing, a Pipe fish, Crab nets, 2 skates on soft plastics, weedy whiting on a soft plastic. To

  9. It must be the contaminated soil around westies, that turns people that live there into crazies. I've had things thrown at me, abuse screamed, threats made when fishing westlakes from my yak. Even when we were doing water quality testing for the council every month in a Stacer Aluminum with a 60 on the back, we still copped it. We had a permit to be on the lake in a motor boat, and had been doing it for years. Don't people get the picture, after seeing a boat on the lake every month for the last 5 years, wouldn't you think that they were allowed to? We still had residents screaming out "No Mot
