hey mate , wind knots mostly come from twist. cheap braids are not perfectly round and especialy when winding under tension, even $150 reels still generate twist.i only use nitlon pe braid and a twin power reel with 4lb braid and have not had a probolem in two months.the cheap way to halve the probs would use an owner(i think) swivel that has a ring on one end and a snap on the other and they are tiny and very strong when using your plastics.CHOICE Mark

just got back from tuna trip an hour ago. was excellent herb went above and beyond as usual and scored every one on the boat multiple tuna.I landed a couple to 28 kilos on 20 lb mono on an spin reel pulling a xrap .top sport!!!!!!!!!!!! get pics on tomorrow with a proper report

same thing i went out with a tynos 30 with 25 kg mono and ended up using a small spinner with 4 kilo and had a ball im of with herbie thursday south of ki tuna and samsons (insert big grin here)

hi all ive been using 1000 to 1500 size reels for most local species prety hard for the last 5 to 6 years and have always stuck with shimano.Ive just retired an1500 exage rear drag that has been to hell and back over the last 2 years!!!!!!!! i ran it with 2 kg nitlon braid and only in the last few sessions has the wear in the oscilator drive and line roller become noticable with a few tangles from the extra twist.So ( thanks kym ( i think ))i picked up the twin power 1000 size today again with nitlon 2 kg braid , and After around an hour and a half of casting hard bodies around into the wind t

i used them out by wedge island in 80m of water on bream gear and had a ball on stomper nanigai and pan snapper and a couple of swallow tail .great stuff 30+ fish on same lure and i would still use it again the skirt is fine ,probobly replace hooks though.plus no smelly or slipery hands.
