  2. Hi guys I,m having a bit of trouble with airknots when casting this nitlon braid off my sienna and flickstick,i don,t reckon the spool is overfilled(because i,ve cut heaps off {SMILIES_PATH}/angry.gif:(" title="Angry" />) but its still happening about every 15 casts or so.Someone told me if you take all the line off and hand wind on a base with more line on the front (i think) of the spool and then wind the rest on as normal this will stop it.does anyone know if this works or do you have another remedy....thanks in advance {SMILIES_PATH}/smiley.gif
  3. In the heavy metals i like the sluk in pilchard,they grab any plastic but my favorite would be 4' minnow in white and ofcourse the mags and pins but i would have to be desperate for a snook to use one on them {SMILIES_PATH}/undecided.gif cheers brenton

  6. I have a question on gathering worms in the nth'n metro area,I was having a fish yesterday and a saw this guy reel in a good size bream.In his keeper net he had another 3 beauties,and while i watched him baiting up i noticed he was using worms that he was keeping in a bucket of mud.They weren't tubies or seaweeds and they didn,t look like bungums or bloodies or squirt worms,ive seen people down the lake using the same worms and i was wondering what they were and where do you get them.I was thinking perhaps they are breeding them and chucking them in the mud to get a bit of flavour into them a
  7. I'm not sure about this one .the east coast bream would of seen heaps more plastic than ours and they seem to still do ok.Your right though the big ones are very cunning as they are probably 20 years oldI,ve only flicked the plastic for 6 months or so and they definately got harder to catch in the lake over that time but i put that down to a seasonal change as the weed close to shore died off with the heat i reckon the bream went deeper and started eating little fish instead of the worms and shrimp that they would of gotten out of the weed.I,m hoping that they have got short memories and that
  8. I've got 100 or so metro marks that are worth while and i never save anything if i don,t catch a fish there.I'd reckon i only get about 6 new marks a year and each one is a cause for celebration because there can be a lot ofwater between the fish sometimes.As for specific info (tides moons etc)that i would put in a diary well i don't bother with the KG but sure do with the ruggers. cheers brenton
  9. {SMILIES_PATH}/grin.gif {SMILIES_PATH}/grin.gif I had to rope the carp for the old couple there as they only had a bucket and were spending quite a bit of time trying to wrestle the carp away from the water.......and they were losing {SMILIES_PATH}/cheesy.gif cheers brenton

  12. The price of cockles is a concern but with the limit of K/G at 12 per person i suppose the cost of a bag limit has remained about the same albiet with less fillets in the freezer.I only berley with the empty shells anyway so i,m not losing out there.I'll have a look at the chocolates at some time no doubt. cheers brenton
  13. Yep its amazing the amount of people who have no idea,I,d reckon that correct anchoring can improve your results by up to 30% if i had to put a figure on it. cheers brenton

  23. I,ve been lucky enough to fish from boats all my life so its basically been bait with the odd H/B thrown in for snook and S/Ts,these days i,m a LBased S/P nut for me its a totally different and more challenging form of fishing,i,m always surprised on how many fish you can catch on the things.Ive still got the boat but i,m enjoying the faze while it lasts and my mates are getting pretty pissed off with me.I went out in the boat for a bag of k/g the other(mainly to keep the crew happy) but it didn,t give me the satisfaction of a big lure caught bream or mully when i,ve persisted and got them {

  25. Paul Keep your hair on,i didn,t move you along .....infact i thought i was supporting your position.I said in my post that i myself fish anywhere i please so i wouldn,t presume to say that you deserved to be sent packing.As for fishing the inlet i fish there all the time and IMO its a good spot,i keep moving and i,ve never had a problem.Mielzy I get your point,i,ve seen and chatted to some of the residents down the inlet and even helped them to pick up some of the rubbish left there by unthinking fisho,s.They can,t catch a fish get pissed of and chuck their rubbish and eve
