    Bloodworms

Oh good! I thought for a minute we were gonna have to debate whether to worm on a full or a new moon! Sorry if I puffed my chest out for no reason.Ya might not catch any on a full moon, but at least ya wouldn't need lights to SEE there's no worms around! One thing I have noticed is that there are boats motoring around in all directions trying to scoop up worms, and it's just not necessary. We just anchor in the one spot and scoop em all up as the tide brings em past the boat. We catch just as many as everyone else, and we don't burn up fuel in the process. Also, while we're on the subject, wheth
  3. You don't kill it, you don't try to extract the hook, and you dont use it as bait. Instead you cut the hook off at the line and return the fish to the water, even if you think it's chances of survival are minimal.
  4. Did ya catch it on a rubber? {SMILIES_PATH}/tongue.gif
  5. You most certainly have posted it before, and I tried it, although I did use rice flour on mine! That 5 spice is a groovy lil addition.I recall you mentioned a sauce or mayo too, but I cant remember what it was, can ya give me a refresher please?
  6. Does it come with steak knives?

I hope someone has told the War Veterans Fishing Group that it wasn't three days after the first full moon then. {SMILIES_PATH}/huh.gif {SMILIES_PATH}/shocked.gifNow what is that predicted bloodworm date again, Ranger? {SMILIES_PATH}/grin.gifI stand by what I said Trev! I might carry on and play the fool sometimes, but I'm not an idiot (regardless of opinions), and I don't hand out false information. It's most certainly, absolutely, definately and positively 3 days after the NEW moon, and I think Squidley and quite a few others here can vouch for that, coz we have the results to prove it!I du

  9. Mate, consider calling them anyways. Is it YOUR fault the reel isn't "salt-tight?" and a refund may well be due!
  10. Dave, if you are unhappy with the conditions of warranty, have ya considered now going straight to the top and contacting Dunphy Sports/Shimano Australia yaself?Once you explain your side of the story to someone who matters instead of a sales rep or service technician, ya never know what the outcome might be, and you've lost nothing to make a call or write a letter.A lot of large companies will bend a little as a gesture of goodwill to their consumers once you talk to the right people.
  11. Ahhh, wiv a dog ugly missus like that, now I can understand why ya do so much fishin! {SMILIES_PATH}/grin.gif
  12. I'm more than happy. What do YOU think?
  13. The Texalium is a fantastic rod, albeit a fairly heavy combo when teamed with the baitrunner. It can take a pounding in the boat, is quite sensitive in the tip, but has a heap of grunt low down where it counts!I'm definately sold on them, and I've recently bought a lil 4kg 6'6" for the missus to use as a Whiting/gp rod, coz I know it can handle the flogging she's gonna give it, and it keeps her fingers off my graphites! {SMILIES_PATH}/wink.gifIn fact, I'm so confident in it's abilities, if you're considering one, I'll gladly let ya borrow it for a weekend to check it out for yaself.

I too dry them on paper, bag them and freeze them in lots of about a dozen worms per bag.If ya feel a bit stuffed after a late night collecting, just leave em in an esky overnight with a little seawater, and they'll still be fine the next day.Watch out though, coz they do bite! When ya thaw them, let them thaw on an old towel or cloth, as this absorbs much of the watery red crap that comes out of them.
  16. Spinyeel, maybe you can help me out seein is you have a penchant for old surf overheads, coz I've got one of the first on my hands!I dunno if anyone remembers the old Seascape overheads. These were manufactured in Australia. A father/son backyard shed business (Wallsend Engineering) in Newcastle NSW, and were the first of the high speed reels. The next major company to perfect the high speed overhead was Shimano. They were a chrome-plated reel with an aluminum spool, designed and renowned for long casting of heavy lures from the beach. They had a push button or lever behind the drag wheel, which

  21. Glad ya got it sussed out in the end bloke!Sometimes ya do have to move around a bit to find em. I generally start at the water line, and if I don't find em there, I go in a little deeper. If still none, I come out of the water and have a dig.No-one ever said this cockle hunting is easy though, and it can get damn cold in that water at times too!Next time ya go, I recon you should just send all the kids down collecting, while you sit back on the esky as quality control officer! {SMILIES_PATH}/wink.gif {SMILIES_PATH}/grin.gif

  23. Okym, I for one welcome your input!Let's face it, this is the first time we've seen these imported cockles, and many of us had questions about something new to us on the market.Even though we have nothing to worry about here in SA now, you pointed out practices which are occuring in the industry, and I think we're now ALL a little wiser for knowing what can and does go on! As retailers, both yourself and Finatic could be at risk if you didn't have this background knowledge, and I wouldn't like to see either of you purchase goods in good faith, only to have them seized later under customs and i
