just after some opinion on avet reels ,,dose any one use them here and are they any good ? i believe there a yanky brand ,,, any feed back would be good on any of there sizes cheers freddyboy

kingfish i found over the years that they dont take a bait readily in winter unless the water temp is over 20 and also found the striped perch disappear in winter and crabs go to deeper waters in winter also ,,, found squid and cuttlys bite better in winter probelly due to mating season ,,,, snapper seem to bite any time but more so in summer ,,, other speicies bite all year round if you can get pass the stripe perch in summer,,,so i find most fish bite better in winter then summer ,,,only its to cold to go fishing in the early hours :icon_lol: :icon_lol: ,,, cheers freddyboy

what makes you think port augusta is the favoured spot {SMILIES_PATH}/shocked.gif {SMILIES_PATH}/huh.gif,,, all them kings i got have been from whyalla,, so go figure,,, just kidding mate it all comes down to knowlage ,,, as for the seasons for kings is port augusta in winter and whyalla in summer reason is warm water from power house in winter at augusta and whyalla the prawn run in the gulf in summer ,,, but have heard a rumor that the kings are already bitting in augusta now but its hit and miss {SMILIES_PATH}/wink.gif {SMILIES_PATH}/wink.gif ,,not forgetting coffen bay in summer time

i guess we are kind of lucky here in whyalla we have most of our bait right at our back door just have to put in a little time and efford and the freezer can be full of bait in no time,,,, salmon trout = snapper bait ,,, tommies = snapper bait ,,, cuttly = snapper bait ,,, squid heads and body = snapper bait ,,, squid tenticals = whiting bait ,,,, live squid = kingfish ,,, dab for garfish and if your real desperate theres the striped pearch for crab or snapper baits,, i used to buy all this stuff till it dawned on me to catch my own and its a lot cheaper over the years,,, cheers freedyboy

thanks rodman {SMILIES_PATH}/grin.gif ,, took about an hour to land, {SMILIES_PATH}/tongue.gif boat stayed anchored we dident chase it i had 2 other people on boat to help me pull it into boat,,, i used 80lb line on a tld 50 and live squid,,, bit of a over kill i know but we fish the shallows here and there are a lot of obsticals to over come if you stay anchord ,, {SMILIES_PATH}/wink.gif {SMILIES_PATH}/wink.gif cheers freddyboy

you heard correct bennyboy about the 2 pens getting washed up on shore but they were empty ,,,there has been no kingfish escapes the pens were empty,, cheers freddyboy
