Not sure how big the Penn Slammer 260 is compared to shimano equivalents but as for light salmon rods i would suggest the Shimano Starlo Stix in 9'. i was going to match up a 4000 size reel. so if this suits... definately worth the $$$ I purchased it from SFS for $100 and seen it at spot on for $150... what a highjackThe rod i got is brand new and i would consider selling it for $70 if you're keen.shoot me a PM

  4. Had a bit of a play around the onk 2 days ago, but nothing. then was watching people bag out on salmon (proper salmon) at Porties... was soo jealous looking at them with my bream gear. was around midday turn of the tide.regards

  7. Just bought a 7'2" starlo stix 1 piece for $65 at SFS would be good matched to a 1500-2500 reel. looks and feels the goods. it also a 2-4kg rod
