  2. They were talking at that location is what I got from it, not talking about that location which you named. *edit John two got in first then edited again. I am too slow on this iPad lol*My brother was the one who reported the crock attack lol. Yes, the helicopter was a bit annoying, at least it was only played that night. The creek has always been fished a lot, and I agree with you that there are even more people getting down there, luckily most dont do well. I still manage to pull fish most weekends thankfully. I wasn't having a go at you mate, I just got defensive as I do what I can to protec
  3. Rollcast, I never post location in my posts and try to make all my photos so only people who already fish the area will recognize it so I don't get your post. I am very protective of this area as I live on its doorstep- I too have fished there for well over 20 years.. Not too sure what you mean about giving away too much as your post definitely does, shall I stop posting? I get lots of PMs asking location and I have never told anyone and prefer to fish on my own.
  4. yeah, heaps of surface action BUT fish are very flighty. I usually fish a section then rest the area for a week or two, unfortunately more people are actively hitting the area and I just hope they are releasing these fish as they are such a precious commodity. I may hit the browns further upstream this weekend. Was your 'bow from this area?
  5. Very nice fish, I have been getting rainbows past few weeks but they have been much smaller than that. Some of the water I fish is so narrow I fish in a Tenkara stylee
  6. Cheers mate, certainly the right time of the year for it. Weather was perfect.
  7. Forgot to go to a conference today *cough* so I decided to return to the pool where I recently caught my first trout on fly (wooly bugger). Water was moving slowly and a bit murkier than on saturday. I tied on a bead head Mrs Simpson and had a hard strike after only a few casts, but unfortunately the fly and fish parted ways a few seconds later. Just after dropping that fish I saw two surface strikes about 10 metres or so from the large overhanging rock I was flicking wets under. Plenty of insect life was active, and the splashes I saw were enough to convince me to tie on a dry fly......Just a
  8. Outstanding as usual!Hmmmm, I may need a couple of boxes full of these for the December Sabt comp ;-)
  9. Photobucket now working- small fish but fun to catch on fly. can't wait for some surface action.
  10. Last weekend was dirty as, couldnt see anything in the water. Today was clear as anything, massive change!
  11. Photobucket has now died on me....here is a short release vid... kept the fish in the water just for Berger ha ha ha (even gave him a little massage to aid in safe release) :evil:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8e7TUwiZoo4Thought I was going to donut today, then in the last pool I connected to a couple of feisty little rainbows. Also saw a bigger one smash something off the surface, so things are looking good for some dry fly action over the coming months! Was suprised to see rainbows as I usually get browns in this stretch. I feel so lucky to have brown and rainbow trout, as well as stacks of r

  13. Finally managed to land my first ever trout on fly today, woo-hoo!
  14. *COUGH**COUGH*  :huh:It's scented too!!!
  15. If there was then would ever be allowed to see it.... I had to keep looking around to make sure nobody was watching me thrash around. Forget the 'roll cast' I was 'seizure-casting'. Fair bit more practice needed methinks ha ha ha ha
  16. FINALLY got my 3wt fly set up together this week so I couldnt wait to get out and use it. Had a spare hour or two after work this arvo so I thought that rather than go and practice trying to cast the thing (the sensible thing given I have NEVER fly fished before)I would hit my local creek and try to see how many trees I could catch.I started off with a couple of different dry flies and managed to catch several trees, some bull-rushes, a rock, some dry grass and myself (mixed bag for sure). After being so succesfull with the dry I switched to the good-ole Woolly Bugger to see how many submerged
  17. I vote that we drop the carp off at Jimbos house for official weighing and measuring.
  18. I only took a couple as I didnt want to annoy them while they worked (bloody clumsy dude falls down a cliff then gets all touristy and starts taking photos whilst they work ha ha ha), I deliberately took no shots of peoples faces
  19. Bahahahahha! I love it!Luckily, in my morphine induced happiness I didnt use a previously used vomit bag to make mr morphine
