  2. C'mon Weaves!! we're all hangin' :S
  3. Damn, I thought it was my dream 2 kilo model as well!!!Not certain how it found its way in to LBB's Dam tho"?
  4. I hear your argument, but, please correct me if I'm wrong, does this mean you would like to have a licence for freshwater and then another for the marine fishery?A big can of worms there I suspect! It is also a well known and publicised fact that marine fish are also being re-stocked in interstate environments courtesy of RFL funding!PS I love ALL forms of fishing but it's just that my immediate attention is always focussed on Freshwater Fishing (current SAFWAA President)
  5. I was having a flick on Brighton jetty last night to see if I could raise a snook with mars one on here. We were both surprised to see 6 asians shoulder to shoulder pulling silvers out like a conveyor belt and filling there buckets up with them at around 100 to 150mm in length! They were not breaking any laws as has been stated, but surely there is a moral/ethical stance to be taken with these fish which are so tiny, you'd need a bucket full of 'em for a feed!Incidentally these fish are also known as Southern School Whiting and when I used to take them, out in my boat, I set myself a personal
  6. Botttom line fellahs is that I get a lot of interesting stuff fed to me via my SARFAC connection. Me being a fairly ignorant type on most things that don't have a "Freshwater" prefix to them, I then find myself able to present these li'l tidbits to the much more knowledgeable core of this Forum and sit back and learn ship loads about that which I knew nothing of!Keep up the good work guys PS I was quite impressed with the Vic. stocking program tho;!!Aaahh well, it'll all come good when we get our RFL in the fullness of time

  8. Just had a thought that a piece of a smokers pipe cleaner might make a bit of a former to build the abdomen on too and then it would be able to be set at various angles??
  9. Mine will be getting a swim at LBB's this friday (I reckon I will as well with the weather forecast  )
  10. Many thanks for those "Ghosts" in the first place, a gift from you guys as I remember and they've done some efficient work on those striped predators I luv chasin'
  11. Solid GOLD Kon, Let's all start a brand new literary quotation Board on S&H Think of the hours we could peacefully while away while thinking up some more B/S to put on S&H :laugh:PS Apologies for side tracking the serious nature of this post but we've gotta have a giggle now and again even if it's just to keep us sane
  12. Hi guys,I caught a couple of redfin on the week end on lures but their collective stomachs were bursting with mudeyes! I own a couple of small very lifelike looking Fly imitations at the present time but wondered if anyone has experimented with a imitation, stand off, abdomen part when they've been tying? With the amount of synthetic resins about I wonder how hard it would be to replicate? and also the actual engineering side of retaining a stand off body on to the hook shank? Any ideas???Cheers, Tony.
  13. Good point about the retreiver DB1,I had the weighted one with the snap over wire at one end of it in my tackle bag, but the draw rope was sitting at home!!!Maybe if I'd had the rope I wouldn't have been posting this mini drama??
  14. I don't remember which famous personality said it but I do remember the message! Two things are a certainty in life, DEATH AND TAXES!My take, what's one more imposition here or there if there's even a remote possibility of an improvement in the recreational fisher persons lot??Positive or Negative? Is the glass half empty or half full?My choice is obvious!Regards, Tony.
  15. Hey guys,Just like to share this little incident with you all concerning a "Ghost" Blade!I got snagged in a dam on the weekend possibly a bit of timber, after trying different angles of pulling, I finally lost the patience and tugged real hard with the 8lb flurocarbon leader and the 2 to 4kg Raider rod, resulting in the rear half of the Blade , complete with treble, being left behind on the snag!!!Just wondered if this has happened to any one else with the plastic bodied blades? It also begs the question of how much pressure they can stand with a big fish working on the back treble!I'm not knoc
  16. Kelvin kindly gave me some of his blades to try out this week end and they cast like a rocket, have a wickid soft vibration, they are what I call honest ie the VMC trebles are not trying to make love to each other at every cast and Kelvin has also cleverly put a smaller treble at the front of the lure to accommodate this B)My test bed was a couple of weedy dams which were not ideal for these bottom huggers! Can't wait to give them a good work out soon on more suitable waters! Thanks again for your kindness Kelvin
  17. :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: Just got the email from Derek, got loads in at 70 bucks each B) B)I'll soon be playing with my junglecock as well after 25 years of not ;)

  19. Geez Darren, I'm whingeing already mate, must be that pommy up bringing I hooked up to your link but it seems to only sell rods/reels etc :unsure:Not to be beaten, and with true, ex pom determination, I've posted off an email to clarify about the Cape. No reply as yet but my hopes are high ;)Cheers, Tony.
