  1. If it's your first time using braid, I'd go with 10lb sunline super PE. It's thinner than or equal to 4 or 6lb power pro.I have been using 10lb in the white colour for a couple of years now and I can't recall a single wind knot.10lb super PE will break at around 10lb where as power pro, fireline etc. 4 and 6lb could break anywhere between 10-20lb.

  2. I would go with the symetre 2500 with 5lb power pro or 10lb sunline super pe.Most of the shimano 2500s can run 3000 spool aswell. So you could buy a 3000 spool to go with your 2500 and run 15lb on it.In terms of the rod I would go a 3-5 or 3-6 kg over a 1-4 or 2-4kg. Around the 7ft markA 3-5 Gives you the option of casting a heavier lure if needed, and will be more versatile. Eg. Be able to use snapper fishing. What's your budget if you don't mind me asking?

  3. What are you guys getting at????We know it's been reviewed. But he has taken both editions of the Stella SW out of his top 5...They were there' date=' now they are not.Must be a reason. A reel can't just go backwards?[/quote'] quote :Only reels in current production appear on the tables. Of course a reels can go "backwards"!! by better ones being released which put it in front of the existing or not being able to be bought new!His lists are live' date=' but the 08 Stella is not available new anymore, thus pushed out of the top 5 by default!![/quote']I missed that there ale, thanks for clearing it up. (swear it wasn't there last time I checked)And saying he has been paid by Daiwa was just me stirring the pot a little :whistle:He is the man though, I've emailed him a couple of times and he always gets back to you. Unlike Shimano.
  4. another great place for snook is the old rapid bay jetty but you will have to jump the gate if your going to do this only do it while the sun is shinning cause there are gaps in the old jetty dont want you to fall through or the new one the reason they closed the old one was for small structal damage that could have been easily replaced instead of building a new one probaly would have been cheaper too

Telling someone to do something dangerous / illegal. You're kidding aren't you.Plus there is at least a 20ft gap about 30m down the old jetty now. This year a mate and I were waiting for the swell to die down a little at cape jervis so we decided to troll in close around the Morgan's beach area. Picked up 3 decent snook in about 20min.I could see no reason why you wouldn't get them off the beach itself.
  5. Considering the weather at the moment :rain::rain::rain::rain::rain::rain: I would love to here some bad weather success stories. When toughing it out reaped reward.Strong winds, rain you name it.Port Noarlunga jetty is an obvious place where weather plays a big part.Be good to hear about other spots aswell.

  6. Up on the Shimano North America site nowhttp://fish.shimano.com/publish/content/global_fish/en/us/index/products/reels/saltwater_spinning/Saragosa_SW.htmlLooks like a 6000 will be coming my way.
