I think like myself most dont really care for it and simply appreciate the effort by Gardy & Watersnake to share a few co-ordinates. Nobody will live or die by them so mate move on from your petty pandering about how accurate or otherwise these are. Geez & I thought I had too much time to myself  YIKES!
  2. Gardy, let it go mate. This bloke obviously has FARRRRR to much time on his hands and your just adding to his twisted idea of entertainment.Isnt of any use to me, but I, and I'm sure many others, still appreciate the effort you went to in putting this up.

  4. projoe wrote: Ha ha ha Nope I didnt but the big man out front of teh sportfishing scene did! I did have one of the light, almost sky blue ones. It was an off the shelf job with white underbinding and similar colour blue over binding. Nice stick, not sure why I ever sold it

  6. Yes mate its the old way of numbering them MT = Medium Taper8 = the # of wraps144 = the length in inches. Then there were / are the FSU's SU's FT's & one other I think that eludes me now. Am going on memory here, remember I'm old so cut me some slack if I get this wrong, but the FSU is a Fast Surf, SU = surf, and FT, well that has to be a fast taper.Surprised to hear they are no longer made. I have seen a few, especially the 7wraps, in various tackle stores. Might have to pay Pillie another visit @ ABT and grab the couple he had there in case I want to rekindle the youth and replace my sabr
  7. I found that it didnt perform at all.It just stayed in the holder at the shop. No song, no dance, not even an acknowledgement. I've found better performers in the Oz Idol queue! Sorry couldnt help myself
  8. Had a Snyder MT8144 that I built myself way back when adam was a boy. Well maybe not, more an adolescent perhaps. ha ha ha It was a one piece and a joy to use. Nailed some ripper reds off the stones I loved to fish back then, the biggest going in excess of 15kg. Fished with a 650C5 alvey & 20lb schnieder line that beast was indestructable.I dont reckon they make em anywhere near as good these days Nev. Well not for the money they were back then. Cheap, by todays standards. So good onya for tarting yours up. I'm sure it'll be good for anotehr 20+ years and countless reddies
  9. T, the mail has been reporting good hauls of garfish from Vietch road.
  10. Cant say I'm surprised by the price. Looks in mint condition and even older than you Pes Definately a collectors item, I'm a sure
  11. plankton wrote: Sport FishingSceneMight be a tad heavy for what u want but worth looking at the snyder 6110. Saw one @ Adelaide Bait n Tackle the other day. So if it fits the bill, I'm sure pillie'd be able to fix u up with it @ a good price. ;)Also saw the pacific composite Azagie equivelant in a two pce @ AS Hornes.

  17. Snapper (Pagrus auratus) All South Australian waters From 12 midday 1 November to 12 midday 30 November. Any snapper accidentally caught during the closed season must be returned to the water immediately. Taken from herehttp://www.pir.sa.gov.au/fisheries/recreational_fishing/closures/seasonal_closures
  18. Welcome to the site mate, but ya first post here and your after spots to catch snapper Good luck with that Other been here for eons with countless posts and probably still looking for their first
  19. Any ideas on what blank u are going to build? Rating/ length etc. Some cheap kilwells that might suit if ya really on a budget
  20. Can I add to AC's comments by saying "JUST DO IT"Mate its surprisingly easy to put a stick together. You can even buy complete kits for some rods. Your first stick mightnt be the prettiest, nor the cheapest in your collection, but it will soon become a favourite after catching your first memorable fish from it.Best of luck with it.
