  1. i either cut the line or if i can manage it i put the swivel on using a perfection loop so that it can be removed without cutting the line -just leave the loop there for next time. i've had a small swivel that fitted through the eyes once or twice and it was a pain as I often seemed to wind it in too far and have to pull line out from the top to get it ready to cast.
  2. Hi bjorn, it looks like a couple of the above links don't work. the ones for Shimsman and Station49 threads. great topic and comp btw. thanks.
  3. Hi folks, I've been fishing at the same spot a few times this week and have observed another angler catching and keeping a few undersized salmon trout. well in fact this guy seems keeps every ST he catches and if they are similar to the ones i was catching about only one in every four or five were of the legal 21 cms. He told another angler that he had caught 60 the previous day. i think there is also a bag limit being ignored here. what should i do, have a word to him?? what would you do?
  4. I've caught a couple little ones lately. On outer harbour rock wall last week and yesterday at garden island. Nothing to brag about but good fun when they do strike.
  5. thought i should report that after 2 days soaking in fresh water the dried up berkley minnows have returned to their former size and softness but they have lost a bit of colour - still usable though.
  6. thanks guys.glad to see I'm not the only one who has forgotten to pack up his toys properly.i'll be getting myself one of those bottles with the juice. ta for the tip. i find those zip lock packets a pain to open and close properly too.
  7. thanks jagger.oh well I live and learn.
  8. OK, please pardon the nooby question that follows. I've just got into this soft plastic and lure thing. So i did some fishing with soft plastics on the weekend. Enjoyed using some berkley minnows on some jig heads. I didn't catch anything but got a few follows and got the hang of the action they make in the water etc.Anyway I left the rig in the boot of my car for afew days with the soft plastics still on the jig heads. What do i find today...hard plastics. I'm soaking them in water at the moment but i'm guessing that will be fruitless. should I chuck em and learn from mistakes?
