i reackon u should use super light braid with a flurocarbon leader if u doing soft plasic fishing

wasn't too bad, i caught a 37cm whiting about 10 minutes before so that was the highlight.

Saw a good one one night many years ago. Didn't happen to me but I was at a colleagues place having a few ale's one night after work when I was working for the commonwealth railways in Pt Augusta. He had two sons. The Oldest was a golf freak. The youngest, a fishing nut. Anyway, the oldest was practicing his putting on the lawn while his younger brother was practicing his casting with a Squid jag. He was doing the right thing and facing away from his brother and everyone else. The young fella swung the rod back over his shoulder in preperation to cast and the Squid jag had dropped onto his older brothers shoulder. Then with an all mighty pull, the young one prepared to cast. But the jag didn't go anywhere. Except up off the shoulder and into his brothers ear. Big yelp from the older lad but it didn't stop the younger lad from trying to complete his cast! More yelps before mum got to the lad and removed the jag. Then she wanted to know how their father could let it happen and wanted to know why he didn't help when it happened. He was still wiping the tears from his eyes while pissing him self laughing!

i've had some reasonable catches off of marino in a mates tinnie but there is alot of cuttlefish there as well, i have found that they seem to take the red head/white body yo zuri more than squid in this area tho.not too sure about outer harbour way but i would have thought they would be around anywhere you got broken bottom

im running a shimano symetre 2500 for whiting and i just bought a Stella 5000 for snapper. can i just ask what sort of maintainance you guys give to your reels, no matter how basic as after shelling out 800 bucks for a stella i would like to still have it in 25 years.is it just a rinse in fresh water and maybe wipe the top couple of metres of line or do you tend to do less/more than that?cheers

yea good advice, im not to bad at telling the difference between them and tommies its just that i have never targeted salmon or salmon trout so any that i have caught i put back coz i didnt know much about them ie bag or size limits and as you say its not worth getting pinged over but know i know so when i do catch them again i have all the knowledge
