  1. Was that the night we were with you? If so, you can thank us for getting rid of all those pesky snook so that the snapps could get to your baits
  2. Bimini's are no problem in mono, but are just easier to tie in braid. I run bimini's in 30lb mono on my mullie rigs.
  3. Mine came from my mates after many Yorkes trips and a frequency of working for Telstra (laying cables) in the dunes (bush borries). Not really the most endearing of titles, and has often been shortened to Borg. The title is under dispute these days, but the nickname has stuck
  4. I'm with plankton: double tied with a bimini and an improved albright to the mono shock leader. If you want to go straight to the swivel a uni knot with 8 or more turns should do the job. I have to admit though I prefer to run at least a rod's length of shock leader for added impact absorbtion. After a few snags and resulting shortening of the shock leader, I have noticed how much braid doesn't stretch ;)I know guys that run braid straight to their connection and have had problems with hooks pulling.
  5. Nice one Brenton! This is a subject researched by many, and your post is the best I have seen. I have all but dismissed catching the fiddly little blighters due to the fiddly nature, but after seeing this I might have to do a re-take. And...I was lucky enough to find a couple of these magic filleting knives in the shack last time I was there
  6. You also have to bear in mind that the attraction to Gulps is most likely going to be due to the stench (scent ), as they don't really have much natural swimming action.
  7. I got the 120L a year or so ago, and have been very happy with it. Had a barbie one weekend, with it pretty loaded with ice and was pulling coldies out 6 days later
  8. Sounds like a weapon mate. We should hook up for a trip down the creek for a session some time soon
  9. I would have thought you would have had to go a 5120 to get that sort of rating. The 4120 is not known as a gutsy blank. My mate has a Pac Comp 5120 extended to 12 foot and that does the job well. That is what I would be looking at if I was looking in this series. I have a 10-15kg Livefibre that does the job beautifully, and in my opinion is much nicer that the 4120/5120 blanks that I have seen
  10. Shimano T-curve Kingmack spin with 4000 Caldia Kix. Extremely happy with it, can flick unweighted half pillies a mile and has loads of grunt {SMILIES_PATH}/wink.gif
