  1. spot on, thats why its $99 off. i wish thy were only $99, i would buy 2.
  2. These are a few of the Lures i keep handy for salmon.
  3. I am pretty sure there is a Jewel Snapper 5-8kg rod, about 2.30m. Around $119.00. would be good for the outter harbour wall.I have a 9ft (2.8m) RodWork's 6110, I think its rated 4-8kg. thats a carbon/glass composite. I currently have CY4000 on it which I am not that happy with, id definitely chuck the Ci4 4000 on it and be happy. priced at about $180.00. I use this rod currently for most things from casting metals, light beach fishing (mullet, St's, etc.), fishing the backwaters and lake bonney and casting metals for salmon.
  4. FJ, but just had a look BCF have $99 of their Ci4 http://www.bcf.com.au/online-store/products/Shimano-Stradic-CI4-Spin-Reel-4000.aspx?pid=277303#Cross
  5. i think i paid $229 less %10 with Gawler Angling Club/Gawler Fishing and Outdoors Sponsorship. The 4000 was going to be the same price.
  6. I bought the wife a 2500 with 10lb powerpro, that is used on a 3-6kg Jewel. Absolute excellent combo. Very good combo. Used for fishing unweighted finesse baits to chucking salmon slugs (obviously not on the big swell beaches). Wife sets this up with 10-20lb leader.I use a 5000 with 30lb powerpro on a 4 piece T curve Travel series. I have caught everything on this from salmon on Yorkes to Queenies and Goldern Trevally from the Broome Pier. The 5000 has the fast line retrieve from the series. i think 105cm per crank. that is why i went to 5000 over the 4000, to get the lure moving just the litt
  7. I have a small marttiini knife, this holds an edge really well and is great for Garfish, Tommies, whiting and a like. You can feel every single bone. The larger is an old silstar knife that came with a scaler and cutting board. It was given to me about 15 years ago.. doesnt hold the best edge but it is easy to sharpen.Cheap steel = easy to sharpen, easy to lose the edge.High Qaulity steel = Hard to sharpen, the edge hold longer. The Rapala knives are reported to have come from the same factory as Marttiini. if anyone knows the accuracy of this please confirm or correct this.Happy shopping
  8. these are great lures when fishing jetties, from a boat; areas where you dont need to cast over waves. great lure and work in "the strike zone" for a while if ripped down initially. I like the small and medium size.
